  • Patent number: 11204214
Abstract: A practice magazine includes a housing that at least partially houses one or more weights, a rotating or pivoting follower, and a spring for biasing the follower in a first direction that is toward the slide of a firearm when the practice magazine is positioned in the magazine compartment of the firearm. The housing also includes a magazine catch notch and additional features to cooperate with the firearm magazine compartment's geometry. The follower attaches to the housing at a pivot support around which it can rotate, and the housing and follower include a stopper arrangement that limits excessive rotation of the follower. The spring, disposed between the follower and housing, produces tension when the practice magazine is fully inserted into the magazine compartment of the firearm. The weights are disposed in the housing to mimic the weight of loaded ammunition.

  • Patent number: 11189189
Abstract: Method and system for displaying virtual environment during in-flight simulation. A simulation environment is selected for a training simulation of an airborne platform operating in flight within a real environment. The position and orientation of a display viewable by an operator of the airborne platform is determined with respect to the selected simulation environment. The display displays at least one simulation image comprising a view from a virtual altitude of simulation environmental terrain in the selected simulation environment, while the airborne platform is in flight at a real altitude above the real environmental terrain in the real environment, the virtual altitude above the simulation environmental terrain being a lower altitude than the real altitude above the real environmental terrain. The simulation image is displayed in accordance with the determined position and orientation of the display, such that the simulation environment is adaptive to operator manipulations of the airborne platform.

  • Patent number: 11175112
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method 300 for facilitating simulation of a shot from a weapon, wherein the weapon is equipped with a laser device which works on the time-of-flight principle. The method comprises the step 310 of receiving an emitted coded laser pulse sequence from the weapon by a simulation device. The method further comprises the step 350 of transferring a returned coded pulse sequence which corresponds to the emitted coded laser pulse sequence back to the weapon by the simulation device. The simulation device is a range simulation device. The method further comprises the step of delaying 330 said transferring in relation to said receiving so that said delay is perceived by said weapon as a longer travel time of the emitted coded laser pulse sequence and the returned coded pulse sequence, respectively. The method further relates to a simulation device.

  • Patent number: 11164479
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing driver situational awareness recovery training in a virtual reality environment are disclosed. According to some aspects, a virtual reality driving simulation may be determined based on one or more input parameters. The virtual reality driving simulation may include: i) an autonomous vehicle for executing a transition from a first level of vehicle control to a second level of vehicle control, and (ii) a driving scenario for the user to practice situational awareness recovery in response to the transition. The first level requires an automated driving system to monitor the driving environment and control the autonomous vehicle, and the second level requires a human driver to monitor the driving environment and control the autonomous vehicle. While the virtual reality driving simulation is rendered, user performance data may be recorded. Based on an analysis of the user performance data, a driving competency score may be determined.
