  • Patent number: 9112634
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in which PAPR for an input of an AGC in a wireless receiver is generated. The AGC may provide a gain-controlled signal to a correlator when the PAPR of the input does not exceed the threshold ratio and may clamp the gain of the gain-controlled signal when PAPR of the input is large. A large PAPR may cause termination of search for a signal of interest in a current channel. The search may be resumed in a non-adjacent channel.

  • Patent number: 9107149
Abstract: A method for allowing a portable computer to adjust the load of a wireless base station autonomously is disclosed. The portable computer can communicate in an infrastructure mode and an ad-hoc mode. The portable computer includes a traffic table for storing the performance of various wireless stations and the traffic of other portable computers. Each portable computer measures its traffic to a wireless base station. Then, the portable computer transmits the measured traffic to the other portable computers in the ad-hoc mode and receives the traffic of the other portable computers. A newly connected portable computer acquires the traffic in the ad-hoc mode. When the newly connected portable computer enters into a cell overlap area to connect to any wireless base station, the newly connected portable computer selects a wireless base station having little traffic based on the performance and traffic of wireless base stations instead of a wireless base station that provides a stronger radio field.

  • Patent number: 9036647
Abstract: A method of securely routing data traffic between communication networks. In an integrated security device, a host router supports a virtual router that peers with VRF (virtual routing and forwarding) instances associated with participating networks on the host router. Each VRF instance preferably runs its own dynamic routing protocol and determines when received data traffic may be directly forwarded from one network to another and when it must be forwarded to an OE (offload engine) for enforcement of security policies or NAT (network address translation) processing.
