In each cell, the UEs served by that cell are grouped such that UEs having a common aggressor (or common aggressors) are grouped into respective group(s), and any UEs not subject to interference are grouped into another group. The apparatus allocates at least one frequency for each UE based on the respective group into which that UE has been grouped.

Accordingly, in certain embodiments, a single network packet records in the payload a forward path and return path of the network packet through the network. Additionally, a symbol duration and a fast Fourier transform (FFT) size for the V2V physical channel may each be reduced by the same factor. Doing so may enable the V2V physical channel to be implemented without significant modifications to other aspects of the LTE standard.
