Abstract: An electronic device includes a housing defining an aperture. An input device extends through the aperture and has a user input surface external to the housing. An inertial actuator is mechanically and fixedly coupled to the input device and positioned within the housing. A mechanical wave dampener provides mechanical wave dampening between the input device and the housing. The electronic device enables haptic feedback to be provided locally to the input device. In some cases, the mechanical wave dampener may dampen shaking of the input device with respect to the housing by at least an order of magnitude.

Abstract: Techniques for modifying queries in a set of nested queries are disclosed. A graphical user interface displays a query detail region alongside a nested query display region. The graphical user interface includes functionality to provide for modification of queries in the nested set of queries. Based on a selection by a user, a query modification tool promotes a query attribute from a child query to one or more parent queries. Based on another selection by a user associated with one query in the set of nested queries, the system deletes an attribute from each query in the set of nested queries. Responsive to a selection to create multiple conditions for a query rule, the system modifies the functionality of the user interface to enable entry of multiple condition characteristics. Based on a further selection, the system creates the multiple conditions for the query rule.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments include methods, systems, and articles of manufacture for enabling beta testing of new features within a native application. In one embodiment, a native application executed by a client device may include executable instructions that are activated and executed only upon indication of a user belonging to a beta test group. The client device may receive a signal from a service or content provider that includes test group information indicating whether a user is a member of a test group. The client device may process the received signal to determine whether the user is a member of a test group and, if so, activates and executes certain instructions received as part of the native application that define a user interface enabling access to additional functionality unavailable to a user determined not to be a member of a test group.

Abstract: An electronic device concurrently displays: a first object that includes first content of an application, including updating the first content as a state of the application changes; and a user interface of software that is different from the application. In response to detecting an input directed to the first object: if the input is a first type of input, the device transitions from displaying the first object to displaying a second object that is smaller than the first object and that includes different, second content of the application, including updating the second content as the state of the application changes while continuing to display the user interface of the software; and, if the input is a second type of input that is different from the first type of input, the device replaces at least a portion of the user interface of the software with a user interface of the application.

Abstract: An electronic device transitions from a power saving state to wake state in which a wake screen user interface is displayed. From the wake screen user interface, the device transitions to a home screen user interface in response to an input that includes movement in a first direction meeting first criteria, and transitions to a widget user interface in response to an input that includes movement in a second direction meeting second criteria. The widget screen user interface includes user interface objects corresponding to different applications, including a respective user interface that is larger than one or more of the application icons corresponding to different applications in the home screen user interface.

Abstract: A mobility augmentation system monitors data representative of a user's motor intent and augments the user's mobility based on the monitored motor intent data. A machine-learned model is trained to identify an intended movement based on the monitored motor intent data. The machine-learned model may be trained based on generalized or specific motor intent data (e.g., user-specific motor intent data). A machine-learned model initially trained on generalized motor intent data may be re-trained on user-specific motor intent data such that the machine-learned model is optimized to the movements of the user. The system uses the machine-learned model to identify a difference between the user's monitored movement and target movement signals. Based on the identified difference, the system determines actuation signals to augment the user's movement. The actuation signals determined can be an adjustment to a currently applied actuation such that the system optimizes the actuation strategy during application.

Abstract: A customized interactive computing environment may allow for a customized interactive user experience. The interactive computing environment may be defined by session parameters to customize a session of the interactive computing environment. The session parameters may include customized interactive user objectives that may be defined by a user. Each objective may be defined with a number of points awarded to a user for completing the objective. Real-time interactive user data may be received from user devices for completion of the custom objectives. Custom profile information may be defined by a user to customize user interfaces provided to users that log into a session of the interactive computing environment. Data analysis about the session and/or the defined objectives may be generated and displayed to users to indicate progress or other data about the session.

Abstract: A packaging system and method includes an immersive reality system that renders a 3D representation of an item to be shipped and the shipping box in which the item is to be shipped. A server includes a database of items and item data and shipping box data, which is used to produce a 3D representation of the item and the shipping box. A GUI exhibits the items such that a user may selectively view, select, and/or manipulate the items. A computer enables a user to query the server to ship a selected item. A network node transmits selected item data and shipping box data to the immersive reality system. The 3D representations include position and orientation data enabling manipulation of the 3D representation of the selected item relative to the 3D representation of the shipping box into a desired position. The system ships the selected item in the desired position.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for receiving a request to generate a media overlay corresponding to a home of a first user, and for generating the media overlay corresponding to the home of the first user using media content received in the request. The systems and methods further provide for associating, with the media overlay, a location of the home of the first user and a selection of users to grant permission to access the media overlay corresponding to the home of the first user. The systems and methods further provide for determining whether a second user and a location corresponding to the second computing device trigger access to the media overlay and providing the media overlay to the second computing device, based on determining that the second user and location corresponding to the second computing device trigger access to the media overlay.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for determining the category of a software application utilizing machine learning (ML) and knowledge graph techniques, and for controlling access to the application by a user based on the category and configured time restrictions for the user. The system includes a feature set extractor and a category predictor with a trained ML model. The trained ML model generates the category of the application based on a feature(s) of the application. The generated category is indicated in a data structure. An access request handler receives a request related to access to the application from a user device. A category determiner determines the category of the application from the data structure. A time usage manager determines an available time usage for the category and the specified user. The access arbiter responds to the request from the user device with the available time usage.

An application provides a video tree having a plurality of video segments, with each video segment including a predefined portion of one or more paths in the video tree, and each path being associated with a different video presentation. One of the paths in the video tree is traversed based on one or more decisions made by a user during playback of the video presentation associated with the path being traversed. A selection of a particular location in the path being traversed is received by the application, which stores a bookmark of the location for subsequent retrieval. The bookmark identifies a sequence of video segments in the video tree having been traversed to reach the location. The structure of the video tree is modified, and the bookmark is automatically updated, if necessary. At a later time, the application receives a selection of the stored bookmark and seeks to the bookmarked location.

Abstract: In some examples, a method to present an affordance user interface element within a user interface of an interaction application includes detecting an association of a supplemental media content item with a primary media content item presented within the user interface. The supplemental media content item is identified from among a plurality of supplemental media content items supported by the interaction application. Abstract: In accordance with some embodiments, a computer-implemented method for use in conjunction with a device with a touch screen display is disclosed. In the method, a movement of an object on or near the touch screen display is detected. In response to detecting the movement, an electronic document displayed on the touch screen display is translated in a first direction. If an edge of the electronic document is reached while translating the electronic document in the first direction while the object is still detected on or near the touch screen display, an area beyond the edge of the document is displayed. After the object is no longer detected on or near the touch screen display, the document is translated in a second direction until the area beyond the edge of the document is no longer displayed.
