Patent number: 5330574Abstract: An electrode forming apparatus comprises a recovery blade for collecting electrode paste on the bottom surface of a dipping vessel toward a first end of the dipping vessel and a levelling blade for levelling the electrode paste, being collected toward the first end, toward a second end of the dipping vessel for adjusting the same to a constant film thickness. The recovery blade and the levelling blade are supported by a blade support frame, which is horizontally reciprocated with respect to the dipping vessel. The recovery blade is vertically moved by a cylinder, while the vertical position of the levelling blade is finely controlled by a levelling control motor. Thus, the film thickness of the electrode paste can be accurately adjusted with excellent repeatability, thereby carrying out homogeneous electrode application.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1992Date of Patent: July 19, 1994Assignee: Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tadahiro Nakagawa, Shizuma Tazuke, Mitsuro Hamuro, Hirokazu Higuchi, Katsuyuki Moriyasu, Akihiko Takahashi

Patent number: 5328511Abstract: A device for applying coating composition to a fiber web has at least one application roll for receiving a film of coating color at a feed location and for then delivering it to the fiber web at a delivery location. A nozzle applicator feeds coating color to a nozzle at the feed position of application roll. The nozzle has a downstream lip with a metering doctor on it for metering the thickness of the coating color applied to the roll. The nozzle has an upstream lip in the form of an overflow ledge spaced from the surface of the application roll. Coating liquid overflows the overflow ledge and is collected in a first overflow trough. To clean the outer surface of the application roll before coating color is thereto applied, a scraper blade scrapes the surface of the roll. Upstream in the rotation path from the scraper blade is a sprayer for spraying liquid on the application roll so that the scraper scrapes the surface of the application roll with liquid on it.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1992Date of Patent: July 12, 1994Assignee: J. Patent number: 5324358Abstract: The present invention relates to an oiling frame for chemical fibre machines in which signal emitted by a sensor disposed above the filament bobbin winding machine of the chemical fibre machine for detecting broken filaments in any fibre strand is received by a cylinder for the same to actuate a set of blades below oil nozzles in the oiling frame so that the blades may instantaneously and simultaneously cut the fibre strands moving downward from the oil nozzles. Since the blades and the blade covers are designed to have several sharp edges which facilitate quicker and more precise cutting thereof while the blades can be economically made of non-expensive metal material.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 1992Date of Patent: June 28, 1994Inventor: Ching K. Patent number: 5324359Abstract: A material deposition device places droplets on a substrate. A conveyer on a chassis moves the substrate relative to a plane so a deposition means on the chassis may release material onto the substrate moved by the conveyer. A movable support means attached between the chassis and the deposition means locates it with respect to the conveyer allowing relative motion therebetween. A supply of material connected to the deposition means sends pressurized material thereto. A control causes relative motion between the conveyer and the movable support means varying the position of the deposition means relative to the substrate. The control has a memory operatively connected to timely activate the deposition means. The deposition means has a body communicating with the supply of material and a valve means responsive to the control selectively delivers droplets to the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 1992Date of Patent: June 28, 1994Assignee: Nouvas Manufacturing Technology Co.Inventors: Wade J. Patent number: 5318631Abstract: A pressure control device for controlling the application of pressure provided by a pressure roller to a pressing object, which includes a support member for pivotally supporting the pressure roller, a locking member coupled with the support member, an eccentric cam switchable between a locked state and an unlocked state by the locking member, a clutch for rotating the eccentric cam by a driving means connected thereto, and a solenoid for pushing or pulling the joint portion of the support member and the locking member so as to allow both members to move pivotally. When the solenoid is turned on and the locking of the eccentric cam is released from the locking member, the clutch rotates the eccentric cam thereby moving the solenoid. The pulling force of the solenoid pivotally move the support member strongly enough to allow the pressure roller to press the pressing object. When the solenoid is turned off at this state, the pressure roller is moved downward away from the pressing object by weight.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 1991Date of Patent: June 7, 1994Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kimihide Tsukamoto

Patent number: 5303670Abstract: The invention concerns a device for metering of a coating agent onto a moving base, such as a paper or board web. The device includes first and second soft-faced applicator rolls defining a coating nip, through which nip a web is passed. The first applicator roll is journalled as fixed on a frame of the device, and the second applicator roll is linked to the frame of the device pivotally by the intermediate of a loading arm or the equivalent. At least one of the applicator rolls is in nip contact with a hard transfer roll, which is further in nip contact with a soft-faced metering roll. A pond of coating agent is located in a metering nip between the metering roll and a transfer roll. As the rolls revolve, the coating agent is transferred through the metering nip onto the face of the transfer roll and from there further through a transfer nip formed by the transfer roll and the applicator roll onto the face of the applicator roll.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1991Date of Patent: April 19, 1994Assignee: Valmet Paper Machinery Inc.Inventor: Rauno Rantanen

Patent number: 5300190Abstract: A process of producing a diffraction grating comprises the steps of forming a coating layer on a first diffraction grating layer of a resin formed on a substrate without damaging the diffraction grating layer, removing a portion of the coating layer positioned on the first diffraction grating layer by etching to form a second diffraction grating layer of the coating layer having the reverse phase to that of the first diffraction grating layer, removing the first diffraction grating layer, and etching the substrate with a mask of the second diffraction grating layer, so that the diffraction grating having the reverse phase can be easily produced. When the first diffraction grating layer is left and both the first and second diffraction grating layers are used as a mask, the diffraction grating having a period half times as large as that of the first grating layer can be easily produced.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 1992Date of Patent: April 5, 1994Assignee: Mitsubishi Denki Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hiroshi Sugimoto, Teruhito Matsui, Ken-ichi Ohtsuka, Yuji Abe, Toshiyuki Ohishi
