  • Patent number: 11611616
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing service availability zones for computing-related services provided by a cloud provider network. According to some embodiments, the use of service availability zones enables users to achieve greater availability assurance for workloads sensitive to downtime or outages. The sensitivity of such workloads to downtime may be due to financial, regulatory, safety, or other reasons. Such availability-sensitive applications may in some cases be configured to run in multiple regions of a cloud provider network to increase their availability compared to running in a single availability zone. However, for some applications, the implementation of an application across multiple regions may not be feasible or desirable. The use of service availability zones provides user-visible fault domains within a single region of a cloud provider network, thereby enabling users to readily and reliably achieve application layer availability of approximately 99.

  • Patent number: 11586965
Abstract: Techniques are described herein for generating adaptive recommendations in response to a content request. The system herein detects abrupt changes and leverages the seasonality of a reward function. A collection of contextual models are utilized, each one learning about one of the unique reward stationary states. A short-term memory model is used to detect reward shifts toward stationary periods that have not occurred in the past. In this case, a new base bandit instance is initialized. In order to perform the change point detection, at each step every model gets assigned a score indicating how likely the last observation is to come from a corresponding stationary period represented by a respective model. A model is selected based on the scores. The model provides a recommendation and the system can monitor clickstream data to identify the reward for providing the recommendation.

  • Patent number: 11588884
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for collecting network parameter data for network switches and/or physical servers and provisioning virtual resources of a service on physical servers based on network resource availability. The network parameter data may include network resource availability data, diagnostic constraint data, traffic flow data, etc. The techniques include determining network switches that have an availability of network resources to support a virtual resource on a connected physical server. A scheduler may deploy virtual machines to particular servers based on the network parameter data in lieu of, or in addition to, the server utilization data of the physical servers (e.g., CPU usage, memory usage, etc.). In this way, a virtual resource may be deployed to a physical server that has an availability of the server resources, but also is connected to a network switch with the availability of network resources to support the virtual resource.

  • Patent number: 11589243
Abstract: Optimizing a performance of a software function withing a content distribution network, such as a software-implemented virtual cable modem termination system (CMTS) network, a virtualized Radio Access Network (vRAN), a Passive Optical Network (PON), or a Wi-Fi network. The performance may be optimized by dynamically changing a deployment location within the content distribution network for the software function from an original location to an updated location using an instance management platform. The deployment location may be dynamically changing in response to a variety of trigger conditions or concerns, such as but not limited to a difference in compute resources, responding to latency needs or tolerances, and a desired cohabitation of data or other software.

  • Patent number: 11582107
Abstract: A topology configuration system receives a graphic representation comprising object images of information handling systems to be configured for operating as a complex collection of information handling systems, uses artificial intelligence and deep learning to analyze images on the graphic representation and determine specific information handling systems present in the complex collection of information handling systems. A requirement list is used to create a configuration job. Sets of user instructions are sent to a user to guide the user and sets of device instructions are sent to each information handling system so that the user can configure the plurality of information handling systems to operate as the complex collection of information handling systems. Validation packets may be sent to each information handling system to confirm the complex collection of information handling systems is set up quickly and with little or no troubleshooting.

  • Patent number: 11582120
Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method of performing health monitoring for resources associated with a global server load balancing (GSLB) system. This system is implemented by several domain name system (DNS) servers that perform DNS services for resources located at several geographically separate sites. The method identifies several different groupings of the resources. It then assigns the health monitoring of the different resource groups to different DNS servers. The method then configures each particular DNS server (1) to send health monitoring messages to the particular group of resources assigned to the particular DNS server, (2) to generate data by analyzing responses to the sent health monitoring messages, and (3) to distribute the generated data to the other DNS servers. The method in some embodiments is performed by a set of one or more controllers.

  • Patent number: 11575632
Abstract: Software for online active learning receives content posted to an online stream at a website. The software converts the content into an elemental representation and inputs the elemental representation into a probit model to obtain a predictive probability that the content is abusive. The software also calculates an importance weight based on the elemental representation. And the software updates the probit model using the content, the importance weight, and an acquired label if a condition is met. The condition depends on an instrumental distribution. The software removes the content from the online stream if a condition is met. The condition depends on the predictive probability, if an acquired label is unavailable.

  • Patent number: 11570061
Abstract: The present invention discloses the method and apparatus for topology discovery enabled intrusion detection. In information and communications technology (ICT) systems, end devices are organized into subnets that are communicated with the system center through the multi-service gateways. Any intrusion can incur the variations of the communications environments and the subnet topologies. The potential external intruding devices are detected by the varied communications environments and identified by the difference between the original and new subnet topologies constructed by the topology discovery method. The information of potential external intruding devices is sent to the system center for device authentication. If passed, the device is kept associated and the system topology is updated with the newly discovered subnet topology. If failed, the device is enforced to disassociate, and an enhanced secure mode is triggered where the messages communicated over the intruded subnet are encrypted.

  • Patent number: 11570276
Abstract: A network system can communicate with user and provider devices to facilitate the provision of a network-based service. The network system can identify optimal service providers to provide services requested by users. The network can utilize context data in matching service providers with users. In particular, the network system can determine, based on context data associated with a user, whether to perform pre-request matching for that user. A service provider who is pre-request matched with the user can be directed by the network system to relocate via a pre-request relocation direction. When the user submits the service request after the pre-request match, the network system can either automatically transmit an invitation to the pre-request matched service provider or can perform post-request matching to identify an optimal service provider for the user.

  • Patent number: 11563745
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for data protection in a cluster of data processing accelerators (DPAs) using a policy that partitions the DPAs into one or more group of DPAs in the cluster. A host device instructs the DPAs to organize themselves into non-overlapping groups according to a policy for each DPA in the cluster. The policy indicates, for each DPA, one or more other DPAs the DPA is to establish a communication link with, to implement the grouping. Once grouped, the host device and a DPA can access all resources of the DPA. DPAs in the same group as a first DPA can access non-secure resources, but not secure resources, of the first DPA. DPAs in a different group from the first DPA cannot access any resources of the first DPA. A scheduler in the host device can allocate processing tasks to any group in the cluster.
