Abstract: A method is presented. The method includes receiving a first sequence of frames. The method also includes decomposing each spatial position from multiple spatial positions in the first sequence of frames to a frequency domain. The method further includes determining a distribution of spectral power density over a range of frequencies of the multiple spatial positions. The method still further includes generating a first set of feature maps based on the determined distribution of spectral power density over the range of frequencies.

  • Patent number: 11222212
Abstract: A first imager has a relatively high resolution and a relatively narrow first field-of-view. Information about objects in an environment is detected or captured, and used to steer the first field-of-view of the first imager. The sensor(s) may take the form of a second imager with a relatively lower resolution and relatively wider second field-of-view. Alternatively, other types of sensors, for instance presence/absence sensors may be employed. The first field-of-view may be directed toward an object that satisfies one or more conditions, for instance matching a particular SKU. The first field-of-view may track a moving object, for instance via a tracking mirror and actuator. This approach may be employed in retail locations, for example in grocery or convenience stores, for instance to reduce various forms of theft or in industrial environments.

  • Patent number: 11222215
Abstract: An object detection system can identify a specific object in a two-dimensional image. A processor can receive the two-dimensional image with bounding boxes around objects. The processor can cause a point to appear in the two-dimensional image. The point can represent a position, in three-dimensional space, of the specific object. The processor can determine an existence of a condition. The condition can be that the point is enclosed by a plurality of bounding boxes. The processor can receive, in response to the existence of the condition, a depth image. The processor can determine, in response to the existence of the condition and based on information included in the depth image and a location of the point in the two-dimensional image, a specific bounding box that encloses the point. The processor can cause, based on a location of the specific bounding box, an indication of the specific object to be presented.

  • Patent number: 11176710
Abstract: A camera system for an X-ray counter system utilizing an X-ray generator to image components of products placed on a tray, the camera system comprising: a plurality of cameras positioned above the tray for imaging the products. The tray includes a plurality of stages positioned about a central crosshair. Upon imaging the products on the stages of the tray, the camera system determines the size and number of products on the tray without user imputation. A light source assembly provides illumination to ensure bright field of vision for the cameras to read codes contained on the products that relay information on the previous calculation of the number of components stored on the products. After the X-ray generator images the products, a computer system determines the current number of components stored on the products. New labels may be printed to reflect any changes in the information for the products.

  • Patent number: 11154200
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for assessing the texture of skin using images thereof. In exemplary embodiments, a texture map of an area of skin is generated from a combination of a standard white light image, a parallel-polarized image, and a cross-polarized image of the area of skin. The texture map is then flattened to remove the underlying curvature of the skin. A texture roughness metric is then generated based on the flattened texture map. An image of the texture map and the metric can be displayed to provide visual and alphanumeric representations of the texture of skin, thereby facilitating the comparison of baseline and follow-up images of the skin, such as those taken before and after treatment.

  • Patent number: 11138438
Abstract: Metadata for one or more highlights of a video stream may be extracted from one or more card images embedded in the video stream. The highlights may be segments of the video stream, such as a broadcast of a sporting event, that are of particular interest. According to one method, video frames of the video stream are stored. One or more information cards embedded in a decoded video frame may be detected by analyzing one or more predetermined video frame regions. Image segmentation, edge detection, and/or closed contour identification may then be performed on identified video frame region(s). Further processing may include obtaining a minimum rectangular perimeter area enclosing all remaining segments, which may then be further processed to determine precise boundaries of information card(s). The card image(s) may be analyzed to obtain metadata, which may be stored in association with at least one of the video frames.

  • Patent number: 11134241
Abstract: On-demand, post-production de-mura of a television is described herein. An example system includes a television that comprises a screen and a local de-mura application. The system also includes a mobile device that comprises a mobile de-mura module. In operation, the mobile de-mura module identifies and quantifies mura in the screen of the television for a given IRE index. These operations are repeatedly performed in a measurement loop that iterates over a range of IRE indexes. Raw uniformity data is generated from such iterations. The local de-mura application uses the uniformity data to de-mura the screen and improve gray uniformity performance of the television. Further, the mobile de-mura module and the local de-mura application are configured to fine tune and further de-mura the screen by iterating a verification loop over a range of IRE indexes, wherein operation of the verification loop is substantially similar to operation of the measurement loop.
