Patent number: 9605961Abstract: Information processing apparatus that performs three-dimensional shape measurement with high accuracy at high speed while taking into account lens distortion of a projection device. An image input unit of an information processing apparatus inputs image data of a measurement object photographed by a camera in a state where a predetermined pattern light is projected by a projector. An association unit calculates associations between coordinates on the image data of the measurement object and coordinates on image data of the predetermined pattern light. A three-dimensional coordinate calculation unit calculates a viewing vector of the camera from which lens distortion thereof has been eliminated and a viewing vector of the projector to which lens distortion thereof has been added. The calculation unit calculates coordinates of a point, in a three-dimensional space, of intersection between the camera viewing vector and the projector viewing vector, for each association.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2013Date of Patent: March 28, 2017Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Daisuke Kotake

Patent number: 9589350Abstract: A method for panorama exposure correction can begin with the receiving of a hemispherical-coverage panoramic digital image set by a panoramic image stitching system. The hemispherical-coverage panoramic digital image set can be comprised of a ceiling image and at least three side images that are all captured simultaneously. The images of the image set can be aligned to create a panoramic image. Based on the alignment, overlapping regions between two adjacent side images and the ceiling image can be identified, the placement of blending seams can be determined, and the region of each image affected by a exposure correction can be determined. The exposure correction for each identified overlapping region can be determined. The exposure of the affected region of each image can then be adjusted in accordance with the determined exposure correction. A gradient blending can be performed for a predefined area across the blending seams.Type: GrantFiled: May 8, 2014Date of Patent: March 7, 2017Assignee: 360 LAB LLC.Inventor: Dmitry Kozko

Patent number: 9560371Abstract: A improvement to video compression techniques is described in which blocks of video input information are compared in their respective pixel values to corresponding blocks of immediately preceding frames. The blocks are analyzed to determine whether change has occurred in accordance with two tests. First, the pixel values of the block are compared to the pixel values of a preceding block and if a threshold number of pixel values in the block exceed their counterparts by a threshold amount, then the block is assumed to have changed and is communicated via a standard communication protocol, compression technique and media. Second, even if the threshold number of pixels in the block has not changed, the pixel values are compared with their prior frame counterparts to determine if any one pixel value has changed in magnitude more than a second threshold amount. Again, one such pixel is identified, then the block is assumed to have changed and is communicated.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2003Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: Avocent CorporationInventors: Timothy A. Patent number: 9547916Abstract: An encoder segments frames of video data and associates metadata with segments. The metadata elements can be associated with the segments that include areas of the frame associated with the metadata elements. A motion matcher can match segments of a reference frame to pixels of a current nonkey frame being encoded when a metadata associator associates elements of metadata with segments of the segmentation of the reference frame and associates a matched segment's metadata elements with matched areas of the current frame. The metadata elements might represent actions to be taken when a user of the video data indicates a selection of an area of an image that has that metadata element associated therewith. The metadata associations can be included in the encoded video data or deduced by a decoder. The metadata associations can be independent of segment indices or other segment changes.Type: GrantFiled: June 12, 2006Date of Patent: January 17, 2017Assignee: Altera CorporationInventors: Adityo Prakash, Eniko Fodor
