Abstract: This document describes techniques for presenting a resource user interface. These techniques present, in a summary section of a user interface, multiple selectable resource tiles that each include real-time and/or static information corresponding to one of multiple resources of a computing device. Each of the multiple selectable resource tiles are presented simultaneously, which enables a user to compare live, real-time resource usage for different resources of the computing device. Further, these techniques present, in a detailed view section of the user interface, additional real-time resource information and/or a real-time resource graph corresponding to a selected one of the multiple resources.

Abstract: An apparatus comprises a module which stores document information to which content that includes link character strings linked to other items on an item basis is caused to correspond, a first display control module which displays content on an arbitrary item stored as first content according to a user operation, a second display control module which lists the link character strings included in the displayed first content and displays them together with the first content, a selection module which selects, according to a user operation, a link character string displayed, and a third display control module which displays content on an item stored in such a manner that the item is linked to the selected link character string.

Abstract: A method and system are described to provide a user-widget-based transaction environment. In one example embodiment, an electronic magazine may be presented to a user device as a widget without using a browser. The electronic magazine may comprise two or more data pages. A user selection of at least one of the two or more data pages may be detected and then communicated from the user device across a network for further processing.

Abstract: Embodiments provide for a handheld device with a unified desktop for integrating the functionality of the handheld device with a larger computer system. When connected to a peripheral display and/or a display of the larger computer system, the handheld device provides a unified desktop displayed across the screen(s) of the handheld device and the peripheral display. The unified desktop unifies the functionality provided by the larger computer system and the handheld functionality, e.g., communication applications (e.g., phone, SMS, MMS). A user can seamlessly interact with applications, e.g., open, move, close, receive notifications, on the unified desktop whether the applications are displayed on the screens of the handheld device, or the peripheral display of the larger computer system.

Abstract: A mobile terminal and controlling method thereof are disclosed. The mobile terminal comprising a touchscreen configured to display a 1st region that comprises a 1st icon and one or more other icons and a controller configured to control the touchscreen to shift the 1st region in a 1st direction when the 1st icon is selected by a touch and dragged in a 2nd direction that is opposite to the 1st direction, shift a position of the 1st icon to a prescribed zone in the 1st region when the dragged 1st icon is released over the prescribed zone and arrange the one or more other icons of the 1st region according to a prescribed formation.

Abstract: In a method of assembling an enhanced media content narrative, a navigation grid is initially defined by program name, chapter name and sub-chapter names. The grid is populated with program element file names, and the content is associated with the element file names in each chapter/sub-chapter. An automated toolbar is created for the grid matrix and combined with introductory content to provide an enhanced media content narrative for playback by a viewer.

Abstract: Techniques for providing contextually-relevant content include monitoring interaction with content objects accessed through a portal by a user, at least a portion of the content objects presented to the user in a list through a graphical user interface (GUI); determining that the interaction with a particular content object of the content objects by the user exceeds a threshold interaction criteria; and updating the list of content objects presented to the user through the GUI with the particular content object based, at least in part, on the interaction with the particular content object exceeding the threshold interaction criteria.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention analyze a context in which a user interacts with a computer interface and automatically optimizes the interface for the context. The controller or control mode the user selects for interaction may define the context, in part. Examples of control modes include gesturing, audio control, use of companion devices, and use of dedicated control devices, such as game controllers and remote controls. The different input devices are designed for different tasks. Nevertheless, a user will frequently attempt to perform a task using a control input that is not adapted for the task. Embodiments of the present invention change the characteristics of the user interface to make it easier for the user to complete an intended task using the input device of the user's choice.

Abstract: Described herein are technologies directed towards providing a common mechanism for tracking the activity status of one or more software actions of a computer system. Furthermore, the described technologies facilitate managing the presentation of the tracked activity status of individual actions and/or of a collection of such actions.

Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure provide dial controls on a mobile computing device. In one aspect, a method includes displaying a first function graphic in a dial control, the first function graphic being displayed at a first base position on a touchscreen display of a mobile device, detecting a user selection in a first region of the touchscreen display, the first region being associated with the first function graphic, detecting user motion corresponding to the user selection, animating the dial control to rotate for arcing movement of the first function graphic from the first base position on the touchscreen display in response to detecting user motion, determining a measure of user motion, comparing the measure of user motion to a threshold measure, and performing one or more functions on the mobile device in response to the measure of user motion exceeding the threshold measure.

Abstract: An information processing system capable of maintaining the flexibility for constructing an information provision apparatus, and of reducing load on the information provision apparatus. An image processing apparatus requests screen information from an information provision apparatus via an external control apparatus, receives the screen information from the information provision apparatus in response to a request, and displays the screen information received. The external control apparatus receives the request from the image processing apparatus, transfers it to the information provision apparatus, receives the screen information transmitted from the information provision apparatus in response to the request transferred, changes a content of the screen information received, and transmits the screen information changed to the image processing apparatus.

Abstract: The present specification provides a method, system and apparatus for posting data to a plurality of accounts at a plurality of remote servers. A display is controlled to generate a message region for receiving message data to be posted to at least a subset of the plurality of accounts. The display is controlled to generate icons, associated with the plurality of accounts, in a one-to-one relationship, the icons provided adjacent to the message region, each icon comprising: a first respective indicator of a respective account; a second respective indicator of a service associated with the account; and a respective picture. Icons are selected and the display is controlled to provide an indicator of selection at each of the selected icons. Message data is transmitted to each of the plurality of accounts associated with each of the icons which are selected via the communication subsystem.

In response to the receipt of a user input gesture and a determination that the user interface is in a first operational state, a first action type is performed based on the type of the received user input gesture and the object type of the target object. In response to the receipt of the user input gesture and a determination that the user interface is in a second operational state, a second action type is performed based on the type of the received user input gesture and the object type of the target object.

Abstract: An application in which a portion of a layer is transparent. When the application is a first state (with a first layer on top), a transparent portion of that layer may make a portion of a second layer visible. The first layer may include various menus and the second layer may have a feature that displays web page content in a position that overlaps the transparent portion of the first layer. In a second state, the second layer is rendered on top making the web page feature visible and accessible and, since nothing in the second layer overlays the menus, those menus are also visible and accessible. When needed, the application switches to a first state, for example, to expand a menu's display on top of (i.e., covering) some of the web content, while leaving the uncovered portion of the web content visible through the transparent portion.

Abstract: A novel and non-trivial aircraft digital media entertainment system, device, and method employed therein are disclosed. A content controller is configured to receive first data initiated through a media player application installed in a first portable device configured with a mobile operating system; retrieve and stream second data responsive to the first data to the first portable device; receive third data initiated through a remote control application installed in a second portable device configured with the mobile operating system; retrieve and stream fourth data responsive to the third data to a channel processor for subsequent distribution to one or more displays; receive fifth data initiated through a cabin channel control application installed in a cabin channel controller configured with an aircraft system operating system; and retrieve and stream sixth data responsive to the fifth data to a channel processor for subsequent distribution to one or more displays.

Abstract: An interface may include a first portion of a linear scale having first upper and lower bounds and a first plurality of indicators identifying first demarcations of the linear scale between the first upper and lower bounds. A first selectable item corresponding to a single data item and a second selectable corresponding to multiple data items may be arranged along the linear scale. When the second selectable item is selected, the interface may be modified to include a second portion of the linear scale having second upper and lower bounds and the multiple data items corresponding to the second selectable item.

Abstract: Interactions with data stored in a data storage system are managed through a view of an interface provided on a display. Information specifying multiple data elements and multiple groupings of related data elements is received. At least one of the data elements is a member of multiple of the groupings. A view is rendered that includes tokens representing respective data elements. At least some tokens include a selectable indicator including portions that indicate membership of the data element represented by that token in each of multiple groupings of related data elements. A first selection of a portion of one of the selectable indicators is received, corresponding to a first selected grouping of related data elements. In response to the first selection, tokens representing one or more other members of the first selected grouping of related data elements are rendered in the view.
