Patent number: 7090572Abstract: A plurality of projections and grooves are formed on a polishing member. The grooves are formed in grid pattern. A portion on which the grooves and the projections are formed (polishing portion) has a substantially circular shape in a plane view. Around the polishing portion, an outer peripheral portion having a fixed height is provided. The height of the outer peripheral portion is equal to the height of bottom portions of the grooves. Ends of each of the grooves extend to the outer peripheral portion, which allows slurry and the like entering the grooves to flow outside via the outer peripheral portion. When a polishing pad thus structured is to be bonded to a surface plate, adhesive is applied or a double-stick tape is affixed to a rear surface of a base member, and thereafter, the polishing pad is put in place on the surface plate.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2005Date of Patent: August 15, 2006Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventor: Toshiyuki Ito

Patent number: 7091771Abstract: A chopping amplifier and method for chopping an input signal are disclosed. The chopping amplifier and method utilize at least two chopping amplifier stages. A chopping operation of an input signal is segmented across two or more chopping amplifier stages, and the two or more chopping amplifier stages are responsive to a master controller. Chop clock signals of the chopping amplifier stages are staggered so that they have non-overlapping periods and at least one of the chopping amplifier stages is not operating in an open loop at any given time. The non-overlapping periods are periodic so that a master chop clock of the master controller can be operated at a lower chop clock frequency. For every doubling of N number of chopping amplifier stages, magnitudes of chopping artifacts and aliased components are each respectively reduced by 3 dB.Type: GrantFiled: October 16, 2003Date of Patent: August 15, 2006Assignee: Cirrus Logic, Inc.Inventors: Karl Thompson, John L. Patent number: 7089561Abstract: Disclosed are mechanisms for creating and communicating with computer processes. An application programming interface (API) presents services of the system to applications. The API is usable with all processes, local and remote, and is transparent with respect to the location of processes. A process table stores information about processes created using the system. The process table supports centralized process control and peer-to-peer process communication and synchronization. Each process is assigned a Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) that uniquely identifies the process no matter the computing device on which it runs. A parent UUID and a group UUID may be attached to the process and used for enforcing dependencies (e.g., for halting the process and all of its child processes) and for managing arbitrary, user-defined groups, respectively. A global event is associated with each process. When a process receives this event, it performs a controlled shutdown, cleans up, and reports status.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2001Date of Patent: August 8, 2006Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Conor P. Patent number: 7084700Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a differential voltage amplifier circuit capable of preventing narrowing of an input voltage allowable range, making unnecessary the calculation of correction by an MPU or the like, reducing an influence due to a change in temperature and detecting a high-accuracy differential voltage. Upon a short circuit between input paths, an output voltage of a differential amplifier at the short circuit therebetween is held in a capacitor. Upon differential voltage amplification, a subtraction circuit section performs a process for subtraction between the output voltage held in the capacitor and a bias voltage. An output voltage is applied to a bias voltage terminal, and an output voltage obtained by multiplying the difference between input voltages by an amplification factor AV with the applied output voltage as the reference is outputted via an output terminal for a differential voltage amplifier circuit section.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2005Date of Patent: August 1, 2006Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Akira Haraguchi, Takashi Matsumoto
