Abstract: The technology described herein provides systems and methods for combing, drying, and straightening hair with a device having one or more rows of teeth. Additionally, this technology provides for an adjustable tension mechanism that provides for the compression of hair, thus wringing it of water and providing the ability for a user to also straighten his or her hair. Furthermore, this technology provides for combing, drying, and straightening hair without utilizing an electric or heating means.

Abstract: An upright surface cleaning apparatus is operable in a floor cleaning mode and an above floor cleaning mode. The surface cleaning apparatus includes a first upstream air flow path extending from the dirty air inlet of the floor cleaning head to a downstream air flow path, and an above floor cleaning member removably mounted to the surface cleaning apparatus. The above floor cleaning member includes an alternate dirty air inlet. The surface cleaning apparatus also includes a second upstream air flow path extending from the dirty air inlet of the above floor cleaning member to the downstream air flow path. The surface cleaning apparatus also includes a valve selectively connecting the first upstream air flow path in flow communication with the downstream air flow path when the dirty air inlet of the above floor cleaning member is placed in a storage position on the upright surface cleaning apparatus.

Abstract: A hair curling device has a flexible flat base portion, a stem having a bottom end secured to the base portion, and a bowl portion having a frusto-conical wall extending upwardly from a top end of the stem in an open position. The frusto-conical wall has a top edge and a flange extending from the top edge, the frusto-conical wall adapted to be folded over in position around the stem so as to enclose the stem and the base portion in a folded position where the flange of the frusto-conical wall extends around the outer edge of the base portion and is aligned with the bottom of the base portion. The base portion, the stem and the bowl portion are made in one piece from a silicone material. The frusto-conical wall has a greater thickness in a region adjacent the stem than the thickness along the rest of the frusto-conical wall.

The core of the brush extends along the longitudinal axis of the core towards a free end of the core without turning back towards the distal stem portion.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a dental cleaning aid. The aid includes a threader (or leader) including a monofilament. A follower is provided for following the threader and the follower is at least in part wider than the monofilament. Preferably, the aid includes a loop or fold fastening arrangement by which the threader and follower are fastened together. In one embodiment, the arrangement includes a fold or loop of the follower engaged with a fold or loop of the threader.

Abstract: A permanent hair wave device including a hollow first rod, having a length-adjustable arm disposed on a proximal end thereof, and a second rod parallel to the first rod, the second rod having an inner end attached to an internal wall of an internal wall of the arm proximal to an outside end thereof with an opening disposed between the rods. The rods can have a same or different diameter. An elastomeric band longitudinally engages each of the rods. Each band has an attachment end disposed on the arm and a cap end that sealingly engages a cavity within each rod. Hair strands are wrapped around the rods in a FIG. 8 configuration and the bands secure the hair strands against the rods during the application and processing of the permanent hair wave solution. Apertures and holes disposed in each of the respective rods and bands evenly distribute the solution.
