  • Patent number: 6058579
Abstract: A snap latch device has a handle with a pair of cam members extending from a lower end. The device also has a flexible snap which protrudes from the handle. The front end of the snap has a barbed lip. The device is designed to interlock a shuttle assembly to a stationary chassis. The device is pivotally mounted to the shuttle which carries a board with connectors. The device is movable between an engaged position and a retracted position. In the engaged position, the cam members engage an end wall on the chassis and the snap inserts through and engages a hole in the shuttle. The mechanical interlock between the cam members and the end wall rigidly secures the shuttle in the chassis. The device is moved to the retracted position by pulling back on the snap to dislodge the barbed lip. This release allows the device to rotate so that the cam members disengage the end wall. After the snap and cam members are clear of the hole and end wall, respectively, the shuttle may be completely removed from the chassis.

  • Patent number: 6058580
Abstract: A clothes hanger clasp, particularly to a clothes hanger clasp that will not easily fall off but can be loosened in a convenient way, includes a metal plate roughly in a "U" shape, where the metal plate is divided into an upper clasp plate and a lower clasp plate that are somewhat curled inwardly. On the upper clasp plate is a protruding part and a force applying mechanism that is curled inwardly. The protruding will enable stronger elasticity to for clothes hanger clasp, and, acting with the upper and lower metal clasp plates, it will tightly clasp onto the clothes hanger. The force applying mechanism facilitates easy application of force to loosen the hanger clasp, and it is designed so that the hanger clasp will not fall off easily, but it can be loosened in a convenient way.

  • Patent number: 6058575
Abstract: A cable clamp may be constructed from a hollow body, a wedge-shaped member and a means for dislodging the member from the body. The body includes a tapered channel that is sized and shaped to accommodate the member and round, flat or rectangular cable sections. The means for dislodging the member include an aperture extending from one side of the member to the other, at least one cylindrical bearing surface positioned at the upper end of the body, and a camshaft. The camshaft has at least one cylindrical end with an inward facing end and an outward facing end. A cylindrical shaft in orthogonally and eccentrically mounted to the inward facing end. The camshaft is positioned so that the cylindrical shaft will bear against the inner surface of the aperture and the end portion will bear against the bearing surface. When the camshaft is rotated, the cylindrical shaft will cause the aperture and the wedge-shaped member to be displaced upwardly from the body.

  • Patent number: 6058581
Abstract: An elongated semi-product from which a clasp can be formed includes at each end at least one through-penetrating hole wherein when bent to form said clasp the semi-product forms a generally closed cavity with the mutually opposite ends of said product forming overlapping legs and the openings at the ends of said semi-product being intended to coincide in one position of the legs to enable said stem-part to be inserted easily through the two holes in said legs, wherein in another position of said legs the holes provided in the edge regions of the ends of said legs will be pressed against a portion of reduced diameter on the stem so as to hold an ornament in place. According to the invention, at least one of the two opposing openings in the semi-product has an elongated and irregular shape so as to include at least two holes of different sizes, and at least one opening extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the semi-product.

  • Patent number: 6049955
Abstract: This shoe fastening device particularly for conventional shoes such as sneakers and similar footwear comprises a pair of track members each longitudinally secured to a flap of an associated shoe, and a pair of corresponding slidable members each located within a respective track member and laterally set apart at a predetermined distance. Since the fastening of most conventional shoes is effected by laterally directing together their parallel and opposing flaps, the present invention achieves this by laterally and fixedly setting apart the slidable members at a distance less than that between said track members when track members are secured to their respective flaps and when shoe is in a normal unfastened state, and subsequently slidably positioning them within their respective tracks, and directing them along a path parallel to the longitudinal median of shoe. As a consequence the track members experience lateral forces directing them towards each other.

  • Patent number: 6049949
Abstract: A cable binder includes a cable binder head (1) and a cable binder band (3) extending therefrom. The cable binder head includes first and second planar contact surfaces (11, 18) that intersect each other at a contact angle (.alpha.) in the range from 145.degree. to 160.degree., and are adapted to establish a substantially uniform and continuous contact of the cable binder head (1) with the substantially circular outer contour of a cable or other elongate component (6) that is to be secured. The cable binder head has an opening (2) extending at an incline therethrough and adjoining an edge of the contact surface (11). This arrangement ensures the maximum contact of the binder band (3) and contact surfaces (11, 18) of the head (1) with the outer contour of the component (6) being secured, and minimizes or eliminates the formation of a triangular open gap (4) between the binder head and the component (6).

  • Patent number: 6044531
Abstract: Seal for bags and the like designed to carry out the attaching of the operating tongue of a zipper making up the fastening means of a bag or the like, the seal made up from a flattened channelled-shaped base body provided with undetachable fastening means for said bag or the like, said body having a narrowing associated to one of the ends of its mouthpiece, in a way such that this mouthpiece takes a shape matching with that of said tongue, which is being engageable to said mouthpiece, using the groove-tongue effect, allowing only a frontal engagement which is longitudinally locking both components. Also the spline of the base body has a higher depth than the tongue's thickness and incorporates some supports for said tongue; these supports defining a coplanar position between the tongue and the mouthpiece of the base body; in this position both components are lockable by means of a third part making up the seal and being concurrently engageable to the former ones (FIGS. 7 and 8).

  • Patent number: 6044530
Abstract: A clip and collected assembly thereof are provided and including a method of forming the clip and clip assembly. The clip is formed with at least one slot that has at least one projection for keeping a resilient cord press fit in the slot therein against forces tending to shift it out therefrom. Preferably, two parallel slots are provided for receiving two cords therein with there being two opposing projections extending into the slot opening from either side of the slot. The slot projections provide an attendant manufacturing benefit as the punches of the die press apparatus that punch slugs from the blank fed thereto will not suffer from slug pulling problems because of the presence of corresponding projections extending into the die cavity openings from either side thereof.
