    Abstract: Methods of conducting thrombectomy procedures and deploying a thrombectomy catheter are disclosed. A thrombectomy procedure is conducted with a thrombectomy catheter deployment system. A drive unit configured to operate an infusion pump is provided. The drive unit is operable according to one or more operating modes. A preconnected and consolidated pump and catheter assembly configured for loading in the drive unit is also provided. The assembly is separate from the drive unit prior to loading. The infusion pump and a catheter of the assembly are in communication prior to loading. The assembly provides one or more digital instructions to the drive unit. The drive unit is operable according to the one or more operating modes referenced by the one or more digital instructions. The assembly is loaded into the drive unit, and the drive unit is engaged to the infusion pump for operation of the infusion pump.

    Abstract: A surgical device comprises a housing, a bioprocessing module, an end effector, and a pumping device. The bioprocessing module comprises media reservoirs, fluid conduits in communication with the reservoirs, and a port through which media is expelled. The end effector is configured for insertion into a lumen and delivering a tissue repair composition into that lumen. The end effector has at least one fluid conduit extending therethrough and at least one orifice in communication with the fluid conduit. The fluid conduit in the first end effector is in fluid communication with the port on the bioprocessing module. The pumping device is operable to urge a tissue repair composition comprising at least a portion of the contents of the media reservoirs through the fluid conduit of the first end effector such that the tissue repair composition is expelled from the at least one orifice.

    Abstract: A balloon of a balloon catheter is inflated with a liquid inflating medium by a syringe through a flow line. Air in the flow line and the balloon is displaced into a return line. The balloon is deflated by drawing the liquid inflating medium from the balloon along with the air in the return line into the syringe where the air is trapped in the syringe. The balloon is reinflated and deflated by the syringe until the level of air in the liquid inflating medium has been reduced to a predefined level. A first non-return valve and a second non-return valve are provided in the flow and return lines, so that the liquid inflating medium is prevented from flowing from the balloon to the syringe in the flow line and from the syringe to the balloon in the return line.

Values for first and second components of a complex impedance (e.g., resistance and reactance or impedance magnitude and phase angle) between the electrode and the tissue are obtained. From these values, a coupling index is calculated that is indicative of a degree of coupling between the electrode and the tissue. The coupling index may be displayed to a clinician in a variety of ways to indicate the degree of coupling to the clinician. The system and method find particular application in ablation of tissue by permitting a clinician to create lesions in the tissue more effectively and safely.
