  • Patent number: 11388695
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some wireless communications systems, a base station may transmit downlink control information (DCI) messages to a user equipment (UE). A DCI message may be transmitted using a particular DCI format based on the type of control information included in the DCI message. In some cases, different types of control information may be transmitted using the same DCI format. In such cases, one or more bit fields in a DCI format may be useful to a UE for one type of control information but may not be useful to a UE for another type of control information. As described herein, in order to limit the overhead associated with control information transmissions, a base station may support techniques for utilizing these bit fields in a DCI format to transmit information corresponding to the type of control information being transmitted.

  • Patent number: 11388191
Abstract: The rise of the connected objects known as the “Internet of Things” (IoT) will rival past technological marvels. This application discloses a novel cyber-attack mitigation technique for navigation and protection system of moving vehicles in cities, towns, country roads and freeways. The mitigation technique uses a signature stablished from all information data that received by navigation and protection system. The signature is based on a database table of fixed and variable data received by navigation and protection system (NPS). The NPS uses this signature database table to detect if a received data is valid and ignore it if identified as a cyber-attack.

  • Patent number: 11381290
Abstract: Multi-beamwidth radio frequency (RF) beamforming optimization in a wireless communications apparatus is disclosed. The wireless communications apparatus includes a signal processing circuit configured to process an RF communications signal for radiation in a set of RF beams optimized to maximize coverage in a wireless communications cell. In examples disclosed herein, the set of RF beams includes a center RF beam and a number of edge RF beams. Specifically, the center RF beam is formed with a wider beamwidth to cover a larger center area of the wireless communications cell and, the edge RF beams are each formed with a narrower beamwidth to improve coverage in an edge area of the wireless communications cell. As a result, it may be possible to maximize coverage in the wireless communications cell with fewer RF beams, thus helping to reduce computational complexity, processing latency, and energy consumption of the wireless communications apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11362960
Abstract: A network device, including ports that receive/send data packets from/to a network, receives data packets of multiple traffic flows, and populates a queue in memory with the data packets. The network device periodically updates a fair rate for the multiple traffic flows to converge a length of the queue to a reference length. Specifically, the network device determines a length of the queue, a change in the length from a previous length, and a deviation of the length from the reference length. The network device detects an increase in the change in length above a threshold that is based on the reference length. If the increase is not above the threshold, the network device derives the fair rate from a previous fair rate using proportional integral control. The network device identifies elephant flows among the multiple traffic flows, and sends the fair rate to a source of each elephant flow.

  • Patent number: 11363532
Abstract: Techniques for allocating event offsets within a period of transmission are described. A mains-powered device (MPD) may act as a “parent” to one or more battery-powered devices (BPDs). The MPD may assign “event offsets” to each BPD. The event offset is a time by which the BPD's timeslot is “offset” from the start of a periodic cycle of transmissions by the MPD. Thus, each event offset indicates a time that the BPD must be “awake,” i.e., operating its radio receiver and/or performing other functionality. A BPD may spend a substantial fraction of its time in a “sleep” mode, wherein less power is used and fewer functions are performed than during a period of that BPD's event offset. Another BPD may have a different event offset. Communications by the MPD with each child BPD may be substantially uniformly distributed over the period. To increase efficiency, groups of BPDs may receive multicasts.

  • Patent number: 11337179
Abstract: A relay node receives a data block containing multiplexed data streams intended for multiple user equipment (UE) devices being served by the relay node. The relay node extracts the data streams from the data block and allocates them each to a separate narrowband channel that is associated with a particular UE device. The relay node repeatedly transmits the narrowband channels to the UE devices in a broadcast transmission that is transmitted for a predetermined number of repetitions. Each UE device decodes their own respective narrowband channel to obtain the data stream intended for the UE device associated with a particular narrowband channel. A feedback mechanism is utilized by the relay node to determine whether to retransmit a data packet or a new data packet in subsequent broadcast transmissions.
