  • Patent number: 5127240
Abstract: A knitting machine is provided for producing tubular articles based on two fixed bars of needles wherein rows are formed partly by the needles of one bar and partly by the needles of the other bar. A thread is provided which is displaced alternately in both directions along the bars. Cam rings are provided rotating in continuous motion and in opposite directions. Each of the cam rings including cams acting on one of the needle bars for providing trajectories of the needles of one of the two bars forming a limited angle, generally than 30.degree., relative to the trajectories of the corresponding needles of the other bar. The needles of the two bars are arranged offset and are controlled by the cams to provide the sliding movement necessary for the formation of the stitches of the tubular fabrics. Sliding movement is provided such that the hooks do not cross over during the formation of stitches such that it is possible to work on both bars simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 5125115
Abstract: The invention is a glove-like device which shields the back of the hands from the rays of sunlight. It fits over the back of the hand like a glove, but leaves the palm and sides of the hand and the sides of the fingers and thumb essentially uncovered so heat from the hand can easily escape and the hand can be cooler. Unlike ordinary gloves which would be too uncomfortable to be worn in warm or hot surroundings because they retain the heat coming from the hands, the invention provides ventilation for the hands and allows them to stay cool while the device is being worn in the hot summer sun, or in warm surroundings, such as the inside of an air conditioned automobile, where one would not want to wear ordinary gloves to shield the sunlight off the hands.

  • Patent number: 5125116
Abstract: A one-piece integrally circular knit athletic sock is provided which simulates the appearance of a separate stirrup being worn over the sock. The straps of the conventional stirrup are simulated and made prominent by a pair of stripes of a color which contrasts with the color of the body of the sock and which extend downwardly for a length sufficient to insure for the sake of appearance that the lower ends of the stirrup strap simulating stripes are below the normal level of the top of the athletic shoe. The curved front and rear edges of the stirrup straps are simulated by straight border lines but which resemble the curved lines when seen from a distance.

  • Patent number: 5125246
Abstract: An elastic knit fabric has pile loops on its back surface which are aligned in rows along the linear axis of the fabric and across the transverse axis of the fabric, the loops being disposed in standing relation with the openings in successive transverse rows being canted in opposite directions. The base web forming the fabric has successive courses parallel to its transverse axis and a plurality of parallel wales parallel to its linear axis. The pile yarns are knit to form a plurality of pile loops in the base web, each pile yarn having two stitches knit in successive first and second courses in a first wale, followed by two stitches knit in successive third and fourth courses in a second wale adjacent the first wale, followed by two stitches knit in successive fifth and sixth courses in the first wale. The pile loops are formed by the underlap as the pile yarn crosses back and forth between the first and second wales, whereby each pile yarn forms a pile loop every two courses.
