  • Patent number: 5163305
Abstract: The machine has needles accommodated in grooves defined in a needle-holder element. The needles are controllably movable along the related groove from an extraction position, in which the tip of the needles protrudes from the related groove to grip at least one thread fed by a thread guide, to a retracted position, in which the tip of the needles is retracted in the related groove to form a loop of knitting with the engaged thread, and vice versa. A plurality of sinkers are arranged alternated with the needles, each sinker being arranged laterally to a needle. Each of the sinkers has an end which is located proximate to the tip of the related needle in retracted position and has a tip directed toward the bottom of the related groove and curved toward the related needle. Actuation elements act on each sinker to insert their tip in the loop being formed on the related needle proximate to the retracted-position.

  • Patent number: 5163208
Abstract: A sealing unit for a heat treatment apparatus for textile threads comprises an upper roller (7) and lower roller (8) between which a conveyor belt (8) passes. The seal between the rollers and the frame (2) of the unit is formed by an upper (29) and lower sealing element (30) with PTFE covers (35) which slide along the rollers, and by two lateral plates (42) contacting the extremities of said covers and of the rollers. Each of said covers is divided into at least two elastically interconnected pieces (35a, 35b) so that the covering shortens when the lateral plates draw closer to each other due to wear against the roller extremities.

  • Patent number: 5163307
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the drive mechanism of the warp beam of a warp knitting machine is disclosed. A pressure roll is carried by a support arm biased toward the warp beam so that the pressure roll engages the warp beam. The pressure roll is operatively connected to a signal generator which emits signals representative of the speed and thus, the amount of yarn withdrawn from the warp beam. A controller receives the generated signals compares the signals to a predetermined knitting machine operating standard. A control signal is generated to the warp beam drive mechanism for controlling the speed of yarn delivery from the warp beam.

Abstract: A tubular seaming system for stitching workpieces into tubular shapes. The tubular seaming system comprises a sewing head which is pivotally mounted on a support in operative reltionship with a first sewing station and a second sewing station. The first and second sewing stations are angularly displaced at separate points on an arc a predetermined arc length apart. The tubular seaming system comprises a linear motion assembly which is coupled to the sewing head and the support for linearly driving the sewing head into and out of operative relationship with either the first or second workpiece support. The first and second workpiece supports each comprise clamping structure which is capable of clamping overlapping edges of the workpieces so that a master controller can energize the linear motion assembly to drive the sewing head into an operative relationship with either the first or second sewing station so that the workpieces located at the first or second sewing station may be sewn into a tubular shape.

  • Patent number: 5161261
Abstract: A recess is provided in the inner surface of a primary shield plate which is connected to a cap body of a helmet through a pivotal mounting means, and a step depressed from the inner surface of the primary shield plate is formed at the entire peripheral edge of an opening of the recess. An inner shield plate is fitted to the step and bonded thereto with a soft adhesive, so that a heat insulating space tightly closed in the recess is defined by the primary shield plate and the inner shield plate. The inner surfaces of the primary shield plate and the inner shield plate are formed into a continuous surface which comes into close contact with a sealing member provided at a peripheral edge of a window opening in the cap body. This ensures that clouding of the inner surface of the shield can be prevented regardless of conditions of use such as the presence and absence of travel wind and the temperature of the open air.
