  • Patent number: 9894008
Abstract: This disclosure is directed generally to systems and methods for implementation of Jumbo frames in an existing network stack. In some embodiments, a connection handler of a device receives data having a size greater than an Ethernet frame size. That data includes header data and payload data. The device partitions the data into segments including a first segment and a second segment. The first segment includes the header data and a first portion of the payload data, while the second segment includes a second portion of the payload data. The device stores the first and second segments in first and second network buffers, respectively, of a pool of network buffers. The device forms a packet chain of the first and second network buffers having a size greater than the Ethernet frame size. The device transmits the packet chain via a network connection.

  • Patent number: 9509429
Abstract: A method executed by an optical line terminal (OLT) in a passive optical network (PON). The PON includes a plurality of optical network units (ONUs) coupled with the OLT through an optical fiber, the ONUs sharing a bandwidth of the optical fiber. The method includes receiving, from the ONU, an energy conservation message indicating support for the reduced buffer memory size. The reduced buffer memory size is calculated based on the maximum committed transmission rate and the burst size limit for the downstream traffic intended for the ONU. A notification is transmitted to the ONU indicating that a portion of the buffer memory can be powered down such that only the reduced size of the buffer memory remains in operation, and downstream traffic intended for the ONU is transmitted at an average transmission rate and burst size not exceeding the maximum committed transmission rate and the burst size limit.

  • Patent number: 9503586
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to an online charging method, apparatus, and system based on a number portability service. When a calling UE in an IMS network initiates a call to a called UE, after receiving an invite message sent by a CSCF entity in the IMS network, an AS in the IMS network queries number portability information corresponding to a number of the called UE and sends a number of the calling UE and the found number portability information to an OCS in the IMS network, so that the OCS is capable of performing charging authentication for the calling UE according to the number portability information and the number of the calling UE. When the called UE has changed a subscription network and subscribed to an NP service, the OCS is thus capable of correctly performing charging authentication.
