  • Patent number: 10486597
Abstract: A vehicular vision system includes a rear backup camera and a display device including a video display screen. The rear backup camera is electrically powered no later than 200 milliseconds after a driver of the vehicle shifts the vehicle transmission into reverse gear to commence a backup event. A valid video signal is available from the rear backup camera no later than 500 milliseconds after electricity is provided to the camera. The vehicular vision system displays on the video display screen stable rear backup video images derived from captured image data no later than two seconds after the driver shifts the vehicle transmission into reverse gear. Commencing when the vehicle transmission was shifted into reverse gear to begin the backup event, only rear backup video images derived from image data captured by the rear backup camera are displayed on the video display screen for the duration of the backup event.

  • Patent number: 10485639
Abstract: Methods and systems for scanning an intraoral cavity of a patient provide capturing one or more viewfinder images of the intraoral cavity and scanning the intraoral cavity with an intraoral scanner to generate one or more topography scans of the intraoral cavity. The one or more topography scans may correspond to the one or more viewfinder images. The methods and systems further provide capturing a viewfinder image of a portion of the intraoral cavity, the viewfinder image overlapping with the one or more viewfinder images. An area of overlap of the viewfinder image with the one or more viewfinder images can be determined. One or more indicators of the area of overlap can be displayed on one or more locations of a display in order to provide guidance for positioning a field of view of the intraoral scanner.

  • Patent number: 10489889
Abstract: A control apparatus acquires a captured image from a camera including an imaging unit, including an image sensor, that generates the captured image. A control unit is provided in the control apparatus and executes, using a processor, a process based on the captured image. The control apparatus receives input of an abnormality signal indicating an abnormality in the imaging unit detected by the camera. When the input of the abnormality signal is received, the control unit performs a process to handle the abnormality in the imaging unit indicated by the abnormality signal. The abnormality indicated by the abnormality signal is an error that has occurred in setting values stored in a storage means provided in the camera. The setting values are used for signal processing including a pixel defect correction and a noise removal process performed with respect to pixel values of the captured image.

  • Patent number: 10486596
Abstract: A dynamic image stitching system for stitching images captured by cameras of a vision system for a vehicle includes a plurality of cameras disposed at the vehicle and having respective fields of view exterior the vehicle. The field of view of each side camera partially overlaps the field of view of a front camera and partially overlaps the field of view of a rear camera. Image data captured by the plurality of cameras is processed at a processor to detect an object present in an overlapping portion of the fields of view of two cameras. The processor stitches, via a stitching algorithm, image data captured by the cameras. The processor adjusts the stitching algorithm responsive to a determination of a difference between a characteristic of the feature as captured by one of the two cameras and the characteristic of the feature as captured by another of the two cameras.

  • Patent number: 10484677
Abstract: Sample adaptive offset (SAO) in accordance with video coding. SAO filtering may be performed before de-blocking processing (e.g., in accordance with video signal decoding and/or encoding). For example, a receiver and/or decoder communication device may receive signaling from a transmitter and/or encoder communication device that includes various band offsets. Corresponding band indices may be determined via analysis of the received video signal (e.g., received from the transmitter and/or encoder communication device), inferentially without requiring signaling of such band indices from the transmitter and/or encoder communication device. Upon appropriate analysis of one or more largest coding units (LCUs) generated from the video signal to determine a pixel value distribution (e.g., which may be using a histogram in one instance), then based on that pixel value distribution, the band indices are identified and the band offsets applied thereto.

  • Patent number: 10469861
Abstract: The present invention includes an image information decoding method which comprises: a step of receiving a bitstream that includes a network abstraction layer (NAL) unit including information related to an encoded image; and a step of parsing an NAL unit header of the NAL unit. The NAL unit header includes layer information including reserved_one_5bits for identifying an extended layer in an extended bitstream and temporal_id for identifying a temporal layer of a bitstream. The reserved_one_5bits of the layer information is received prior to the temporal_id of the layer information. Thus, a method for describing scalability information in a hierarchical bitstream is provided.

  • Patent number: 10465429
Abstract: A controller includes an imaging unit, a reception unit, a detection unit, and an opening/closing control unit. The imaging unit acquires an image of a peripheral area P of an opening/closing body provided in a main body part (vehicle body). • Patent number: 10462457
Abstract: Techniques are described to use a reference motion vector to reduce the amount of bits needed to encode motion vectors for inter prediction. A dynamic motion vector coding mode generates a ranked list of motion vector candidates using a distance between previously coded blocks and a current block, and the frequency of use of the motion vectors of those previously coded blocks. The list is used to assign the effective motion vectors to different inter-prediction modes, including a variable number of reference motion vector modes.
