  • Patent number: 10034174
Abstract: Methods and systems described in this disclosure receive a call from a device associated with a caller and determine whether the caller is eligible for biometric authentication via the device by sending, via a communications network, an eligibility determination request to an issuer of the device. When the caller is eligible for biometric authentication, a request to initiate a biometric authentication process on the device is sent to an issuer of the device, where biometric credentials are received by the device and an indication of whether the biometric credentials were verified is received from the issuer of the device. Either the caller is authenticated to the call or additional authentication is required to authenticate based on whether the biometric credentials were verified.

  • Patent number: 10028234
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for determining a transmit antenna gain and a spatial mode of a wireless device (100) are disclosed. The apparatus (100) includes a main receive antenna (112) associated with a first receive signal strength, a diversity receive antenna (114) associated with a second receive signal strength, and a transmit antenna (116). Each of the antennas (112, 114, and 116) is operatively coupled to a controller (102). The controller (102) determines (i) a difference between the first receive signal strength and the second receive signal strength, (ii) a correction factor based on the difference, and (iii) the transmit antenna gain based on the correction factor. In addition, the difference between the first receive signal strength and the second receive signal strength may be used, along with other sensor data (e.g., accelerometer), to estimate the spatial mode (e.g., orientation and hand grip) of the device (100).

  • Patent number: 10021625
Abstract: This disclosure relates to broadcast information block assistance for a wireless device. The wireless device may obtain a first plurality of broadcast information blocks from a first base station. The wireless device may receive a second plurality of broadcast information blocks associated with the first base station from a source other than the first base station. The wireless device may determine if the second plurality of broadcast information blocks match the first plurality of broadcast information blocks based on version information specified in the first plurality of broadcast information blocks. When the broadcast information blocks match, the wireless device may use the first and second pluralities of broadcast information blocks to perform communication with the first base station without obtaining the second plurality of information blocks from the first base station.
