  • Patent number: 10877944
Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying a view of a virtual file system through a file viewer of a computer operating system are described herein. In an embodiment, an application receives a request to return data to display in a view of a file repository from a service of a computer operating system which is configured to cause displaying of the view of the file repository. The application accesses stored configuration information which identifies one or more particular queries which are mapped to a particular folder of the file repository. The application transmits the one or more particular queries to a database management system and receives structured data that satisfies the one or more particular queries in response.

  • Patent number: 10878005
Abstract: An approach is provided in which an information handling system determines a current focus of a user composing a document. The current focus is based on a set of text in proximity to a current cursor location in the document. Next, the information handling system identifies a query based at least in part upon the current focus and queries a database using the identified query. In turn, the information handling system presents reference recommendations to the user that are generated from the query.

  • Patent number: 10860674
Abstract: Optimizations are provided for generating a list of search results. At a user interface, a query is received from a user who is using the user interface. This query includes a request to access digital content. In response to the request, a set of query results is obtained. This set of query results includes a first list of selectable links. Each of these links is associated with the digital content requested by the query and is prioritized according to a particular order. Then, an access performance rate is determined for at least some of the links included within the first list. A second list of links is then generated by evaluating the links of the first list against a set of rules. This set of rules prioritizes the links based at least partially on the determined access performance rates. Subsequently, the user interface is updated to reflect the second list.

  • Patent number: 10853373
Abstract: A data storage and retrieval system receives data points for a time series. The data storage and retrieval system stores the data points for a first portion of the time series using a first data format. Based at least in part on an analysis of queries performed on the first portion of the time series, the data storage and retrieval system determines to store a second portion of the time series using a second data format. The data storage and retrieval system stores subsequently received data points of the time series in the second data format.

  • Patent number: 10853357
Abstract: Systems and methods for querying a semantic data set are described. The semantic data set is defined by an ontology that represents a graphical relationship among data included in the semantic data set. One method includes receiving one or more keywords associated with a search operation from a user, and identifying a node associated with each of the one or more keywords. The method includes, for each identified node, tracing a path from the identified node to a root represented in the graphical relationship of the ontology, the path including one or more vertices, and identifying a lowest common ancestor of each of the vertices included in the paths for each identified node. The method includes constructing a subgraph connecting each identified node to the lowest common ancestor, and traversing the subgraph to generate a query in the query language executable against the semantic data set.

  • Patent number: 10846756
Abstract: Search result-based listing generation in a single view is described. Initially, search query input is received via a user interface and, as it is received, a listing system presents obtained search results via the user interface. The listing system supports generation of listings from search results, in part, by employing a listing schema that defines attributes for listings. Responsive to selection of a search result, for instance, the listing system identifies information of the selected search result corresponding to these attributes. The listing system then configures the user interface to present, concurrently with the search results, a listing template with this information. These listing templates are the basis for generating listings exposed to client devices by a distribution platform. Responsive to input to submit a listing, for instance, the listing system forms the listing from the information in the listing template and communicates the listing to the distribution platform.

  • Patent number: 10838912
Abstract: A rule specifies a data change percent and a backup level to use corresponding to the data change percent. The backup level may be a full backup or a non-full backup. Before backing up a source for an impending backup, a percent of data change of the source from a last backup of the source to the impending backup is calculated. The rule is evaluated against the calculated percent change to select a backup level for the impending backup. Based on the evaluation, the full backup level or non-full backup level is selected and the source is backed up according to the selected backup level.

  • Patent number: 10831775
Abstract: One embodiment provides a method for efficient representation, access and modification of variable length data objects including converting, by a processor, all object updates into appends. The processor divides each object update into bounded size tokens. The tokens are stored normalized as an anchor and a linked list of fragments, the anchor having a pointer to a linked list of fragments. A fragment comprises a contiguous list of tokens that correspond to the appends.

  • Patent number: 10831707
Abstract: Information from source databases is retrieved and stored on a database storage system. Multiple point-in-time copies are obtained for each database. A source database may contain partitions comprising sets of database tables. A partition is imported into a virtual database created. The database storage system validates the partition before importing, by checking whether the partition includes database tables that refer to database tables outside the partition. A partition imported in a virtual database may be rewinded to an older state or refreshed to a more recent state. Multiple partitions may be included in a virtual database and the state of each partition modified independent of the state of the remaining virtual database including the other partitions. Multiple versions of the same partition corresponding to different points in time are incorporated in the same virtual database, thereby allowing a query to process different versions of the same database table.

  • Patent number: 10817544
Abstract: A data intake and query system measures an amount of raw data ingested by the system during defined periods of time. As used herein, ingesting raw data generally refers to receiving the raw data from one or more computing devices and processing the data for storage and searchability. Processing the data may include, for example, parsing the raw data into “events,” where each event includes a portion of the received data and is associated with a timestamp. Based on a calculated number of events generated by the system during one or more defined time periods, the system may calculate various metrics including, but not limited to, a number of events generated during a particular day, a number of events generated per day over a period of time, a maximum number of events generated in a day over a period of time, an average number of events generated per day, etc.
