  • Patent number: 5850717
Abstract: A molding assembly having a hanger member fixedly securable to an inner or outer wall of a building and a decorative molding insert member releasably engageable with the hanger member. The molding insert member is supported at a lower edge portion by a lower J-channel of the hanger member. An upper L-shaped portion of the insert member is supported by a depending lip portion of the hanger member which forms a second channel such that no external fastening elements are required to secure the molding insert member to the hanger member. The insert member can be quickly and easily releasably engaged within the J-channel and the second channel without the need for special tools. In an alternative preferred embodiment the insert member includes a lip portion which is adapted to slidably engage an under surface of an adjacently positioned insert member to provide an even more continuous appearance for adjacently positioned insert members.

  • Patent number: 5848603
Abstract: An improved arm piece assembly for a crutch comprising a hollow, thermoplastic blow-molded arm piece and an outer resilient covering molded to the outer surface of the arm piece. The inner side surface of the arm piece is located at a slight angle to the vertical, and is generally concave in the horizontal direction to more readily accommodate the ribcage of the user. The bottom surface of the end piece is provided with a pair of recesses which receive the ends of the bows of the crutch. The recesses are reinforced by depressions that are formed in the side surfaces of the end piece adjacent the recesses. The bow ends are locked within the recesses by fasteners such as spiral nails, which are driven through the depressions in the side surfaces of the end piece into engagement with the bow ends.

  • Patent number: 5848500
Abstract: In a light-tight enclosure, elongate members and joint connectors are joined to one another to form a framework to which panels having projecting ribs with right-angled corners are mounted. Each elongate member is extruded from aluminum so as to have open ended grooves. Each joint connector is fabricated from aluminum so as to have open ended grooves, some of which have right-angled corners conforming to right-angled corners of the projecting ribs. At each joint where elongate members and a joint connector are joined, the open-ended grooves merge with one another so as to define continuously extending grooves receiving the projecting ribs of the panels mounted to the framework at the joint. Some joint connectors are employed as corner connectors while other joint connectors are employed as edge connectors.

  • Patent number: 5816278
Abstract: A collapsible tent including a closed loop resilient coilable member, the member being distorted to form at least three support loops. Each support loop adjoins the other support loops along a single portion of its perimeter with the support loops having a common adjoining region. Each support loop has a perimeter substantially the same as that of the other support loops and a membrane attached to the perimeter of the support loop. The membrane extends between the opposing portions of the support loop to restrain the support loop. The tent further includes a base membrane attached to the perimeters of the support loops and extending between the support loops to restrain the support loops in relation to one another. When the tent is expanded, the support loops are in spaced relation to one another around the common adjoining region and are restrained by the membranes. • Patent number: 5815995
Abstract: A slip-resistant floor covering system comprising, in accordance with preferred embodiments of apparatus of the present invention, a slip-resistant tile having a plurality of pyramidal-shaped ridges which support an individual's foot at an elevation above liquid and other slip-inducing substances which flow through a network of drainage troughs (each trough being defined between adjacent ridges) and channels in the upper surface of the tile. The ridges of the plurality of ridges are directionally oriented relative to the channels to encourage rapid flow of spilled liquid and other substances away from a spill site. The orientation of the ridges relative to the channels also induces air flow through the troughs and channels in order to reduce foot and leg fatigue which may be experienced by an individual standing on the tile for long periods of time. Protruding members, extending from the lower surface of the tile, contact a floor surface and limit relative movement between the tile and the floor surface.
