Abstract: A generation apparatus according to an embodiment includes an acquiring unit and a generating unit. The acquiring unit acquires information on usage of a moving image content used via a partial moving image that is used as a key image of the moving image content in a terminal device that is a distribution destination of the partial moving image. The generating unit generates a partial moving image corresponding to the moving image content on the basis of the information acquired by the acquiring unit.

Abstract: A method augments a video with snippets. The method transmits, to a video reviewer, a request for one or more snippets created by the video reviewer for a video, where the one or more snippets provide additional information about one or more video passages in the video. The method receives a response to the request, which includes the one or more snippets; retrieves a video reviewer profile for the video reviewer; receives a request for the video from a viewer; and compares the video reviewer profile to a viewer profile of the viewer. In response to the viewer profile matching the video reviewer profile within a predetermined range of similarities, the method augments the video with the one or more snippets to create an augmented video, and transmits the augmented video to the viewer.

Abstract: A live data broadcast method is performed at a computer server that is communicatively coupled to a first terminal and a second terminal. The method includes: detecting, during live broadcast of content of a first application running in a foreground of the first terminal to the second terminal, that the first terminal switches the first application to run in a background of the second terminal; obtaining predetermined multimedia content associated with the live broadcast; sending instructions to the second terminal to play the predetermined multimedia content on the second terminal, the predetermined multimedia content being different from content of a second application running in the foreground; and communicating status updates related to the live broadcast with the first terminal and the second terminal, respectively.

Abstract: A geolocationing system and method for providing awareness in a multi-space environment, such as a hospitality environment or educational environment, are presented. In one embodiment of the geolocationing system, a vertical and horizontal array of gateway devices is provided. Each gateway device includes a gateway device identification providing an accurately-known fixed location within the multi-space environment. Each gateway device includes a wireless transceiver that receives a beacon signal from a proximate wireless-enabled personal locator device. The gateway devices, in turn, send gateway signals to a server, which determines estimated location of the wireless-enabled personal locator device.

Abstract: A technique capable of allowing a reception side to easily select components is provided. A transport stream in which a first transport packet including predetermined components and a second transport packet including signaling information related to the predetermined components are time-division multiplexed is transmitted via a predetermined transport path. Component selection information is inserted in the second transport packet. The component selection information includes information on a selective layer in which static selection is performed, information on a composite layer in which composition is performed, and information on an adaptive layer in which dynamic switching is performed, and these layers being arranged in that order from top to bottom.

Abstract: A set-top box or other receiving device may detect such channels that the EPG cursor visits frequently, visits for relatively long periods of time or that are frequently displayed on the screen in the electronic program guide (EPG), or otherwise frequently visited or viewed. The system determines that such channels are those that the user is likely to return to when browsing the EPG in the future and then adapts the EPG to present such channels on top of the EPG together with each other separately from the other full list of channels presented in the. This may be performed each time the EPG is opened. A customized EPG having the particular group of channels presented according a specific identified user's previous channel browsing activity may also be generated.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to optimize reference signature matching using watermark matching. An example disclosed herein includes selecting first unhashed reference signatures to evaluate for a second time segment of monitoring data based on watermark coverage of a first time segment of the monitoring data, the monitoring data obtained from a meter monitoring media presented by a media device and comparing the first unhashed reference signatures with first unhashed monitored signatures from the second time segment of the monitoring data.

Abstract: Devices and methods are provided for out-of-home transmissions for digital video recorders. The device may receive, at a first port of the device, a first packet from a second device using a peer-to-peer (P2P) connection between the device and a second device, first packet including a first session identifier associated with a first socket based on the first port and a second port of the second device. The device may receive a second packet from the second device using the P2P connection, the second packet including a second session identifier. The device may determine a second socket based on the second session identifier, the second socket based on the first port and a third port of the second device. The device may send a third packet using the second socket, the third packet including the second session identifier.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a passenger vehicle entertainment system configured to access media data files on a passenger's personal electronic device and play the media data files on a video monitor of the entertainment system installed at a passenger seat. The system includes an onboard display system having a computing device, a wireless communication module and a video monitor. The system has a media player software application executable by the computing device and configured to program the display system to establish a wireless network connection to the personal electronic device using the wireless communication module, access media data files stored on the personal electronic device via the wireless network connection, display the media data files on the video monitor and allow a passenger to browse the media data files and select a media data file to play, and play a selected media data file on the video monitor.

Abstract: A gateway device and system and method for use of the same are disclosed. In one embodiment, multiple wireless transceivers are located within a housing, which also interconnectively includes a processor and memory. To improve convenience, the gateway device may establish a pairing with a proximate wireless-enabled interactive programmable device having a display. Virtual remote control functionality for various amenities may then be provided. To improve safety, the gateway device may be incorporated into a geolocation and safety network.

The online system may provide such payments for many types of content from various sponsors, such that the online system provides content with a code for various content and permits the online system to preserve user privacy while presenting such content.

Abstract: Methods and systems are discussed herein for improving the efficiency and ease of navigating and selecting media content without the need for additional keys, buttons, or other inputs. For example, in response to the same user input, the media guidance application may determine different numbers of content sources to skip, in a dynamic fashion, based on the total number of content sources, the order of the content sources, the direction a user wishes to navigate, and/or prior user inputs related to navigating the content sources.

The second content portion is associated with the first content portion. A second computing node is selected based on at least one of a location of the second computing node, an activity of an individual, and the second content portion. Abstract: A video streaming client is configured to check whether a target version of a desired video content is available for streaming from a video streaming server, the target version being encoded to a target value of an encoding attribute. The video streaming client obtains a data communication speed to the video streaming server, and determines that the data communication speed is sufficient to stream and display the target version of the desired video content. The target value is less than a maximum value of the encoding attribute which is decodable by the video streaming client. The video streaming client is configured to select to stream the target version of the desired video content even though the data communication speed is sufficient to stream a version of the desired video content without playback interruption when encoded using a value of the encoding attribute which is higher than the target value.

Abstract: Disclosed are a logical channel number parsing method and a logical channel number parsing device. The method includes: acquiring an operator which provides program signal, and searching channels in sequence according to preset frequency points; acquiring channel information of a current frequency point, and extracting logical channel number data from the channel information, when searching channels according to each of the frequency points; and parsing the logical channel number data according to a prestored logical channel number configuration table corresponding to the operator, to obtain each of attribute parameters comprised in the logical channel number data. The present disclosure simplifies the parsing operation of the logical channel number.

These techniques may be particularly suited for the short video industry. An innovative video analytics mechanism and user-behavioral analytics mechanism are provided, with which the best match of an exact product on the video for the particular viewer is advertised on the video, while the viewer is viewing the video. Further, techniques are provided that enable the viewer to purchase the product while still in the video, not having to leave the video or the site to complete the purchase.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate a multiplexed delivery of media associated with guide display options. A transport stream carrying media associated with a current context of an interactive guide application may be supplemented with one or more secondary streams that are associated with other contexts of the interactive guide application that are likely to be requested from subsequent user interactions. The other contexts of the interactive guide may be determined based upon a correlation between the other contexts and the current context of the interactive guide. When a user interaction occurs at a multimedia device, the multimedia device may retrieve a media stream associated with the user interaction from a transport stream that is currently being received by the multimedia device, from a buffer at the multimedia device, or from local storage associated with the multimedia device.

Abstract: Systems and method for advertisement replacement are disclosed. A server may receive a server feed, generate a plurality of server fingerprints for a respective plurality of segments of the server feed, receive a synchronization message comprising a client fingerprint and a client time, match the client fingerprint with one of the plurality of server fingerprints, and send a synchronization response indicative of a server time associated with the one of the plurality of server fingerprints.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and displaying groupings of content recommendations using personas are provided. The system determines content for each of the plurality of personas. The determined content for each of the plurality of personas comprises content that shares a common genre or theme for each persona. The system populates each of the plurality of personas using the determined content for each of the plurality of personas. The system then causes display of at least some of the plurality of personas on a viewing device of a user. The at least some of the plurality of personas is selected for the user based on device data corresponding to the user, whereby the device data indicates user preferences and interactions with previous content.
