  • Patent number: 11406330
Abstract: A camera sensitive to near infrared light is placed proximate to the skin of a user and the area illuminated by one or more infrared light sources. A set of images of one or more blood vessels is obtained at successive times. The images are processed to determine a change in size of the vessel(s) from one time to another, corresponding to expansion and contraction of the vessels responsive to contraction of the user's heart. This change may be used to determine pulse rate, elasticity of the vessel, blood pressure, or other data about the user's physiological status. The data may be used to assess health status at a particular time, determine health trends for the user, and so forth.

  • Patent number: 11344262
Abstract: A magnetic resonance (MR) imaging device repeatedly executes a navigator pulse sequence to generate navigator data in image space as a function of time, and a motion signal of an anatomical feature that moves with a physiological cycle as a function of time is extracted from the navigator data. A concurrent physiological signal as a function of time is generated by a physiological monitor concurrently with the repeated execution of the navigator pulse sequence. A gating time offset is determined by comparing the motion signal of the anatomical feature as a function of time and the concurrent physiological signal as a function of time. The MR imaging device performs a prospective or retrospective gated MR imaging sequence using gating times defined as occurrence times of gating events detected by the physiological monitor modified by the gating time offset.

  • Patent number: 11333599
Abstract: Provided are a photoacoustic image generation apparatus, a photoacoustic image generation method, and a photoacoustic image generation program that can perform a more appropriate reconstruction process regardless of the type of probe, without causing a reduction in the speed of an arithmetic process. It is identified whether a probe that detects photoacoustic waves and outputs a photoacoustic wave detection signal is a probe in which detection elements are arranged by a coordinate system using polar coordinates or a probe in which detection elements are arranged by a rectangular coordinate system. In a case in which the probe is identified as the probe in which the detection elements are arranged by the coordinate system using the polar coordinates, a time domain reconstruction process is selected to generate a photoacoustic image.
