Abstract: A granulating device for granulating thermoplastic materials. The device has a die head, a cutting chamber housing, and at least one insulating element comprising thermally insulating material. The insulating element is situated between a die head element and a cutting chamber housing element. At least one tempering device situated between the insulating element and cutting chamber housing element or adjacent to the insulating element is provided. The tempering device acts to remove unwanted heat introduced in its vicinity, or to replenish heat undesirably removed from its vicinity.
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a medical tubular object, such as a catheter, for insertion into a body passageway. The method comprises the steps of extruding a tube by pushing tube material though an extrusion nozzle and cutting the extruded tube at a predetermined length. Further, an initial part of the extruded tube is advanced onto a tapered mandrel arranged adjacent the extrusion nozzle such that a flared end is formed, and after a predetermined length of the extruded tube has been advanced onto the tapered mandrel, the tapered mandrel is moved away from the extrusion nozzle to prevent that the rest of the extruded tube is expanded by the tapered mandrel.
Abstract: Disclosed in this specification is a casting cup assembly comprising frontcurve and basecurve molds which of which includes a ring that circumscribes the respective concave and convex mold surface. When the casting cup is assembled, the rings align and minimize de-centering and tilting of the concave and convex mold surfaces which, in turn, reduces edge defects.

Abstract: A negative mold for casting a component such as a blade of a wind turbine is described The negative mold includes a support structure and a plurality of foam blocks, which are mounted to the support structure in such a manner, that a common surface contour of the plurality of foam blocks defines an outer surface of the component, which is to be casted. Each foam block of the plurality of foam blocks is taken from a predetermined number of different types of foam blocks, each type of foam block is defined by a predetermined foam block size and foam block shape. A method for producing such a negative mold is also described.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and device for the direct production of polyester granulate from a highly viscous polyester melt with a polymerization degree of 132 to 165, as well as the granulates formed thereform. In the method, the highly viscous polyester melt is subjected to a pre-drying and drying/degassing after a hot cutting method. Hot cutting is implemented at water temperatures of 70° C. to 95° C. and with a liquid to solid ratio of 8 to 12:1.
Abstract: Provided are a resin-releasing jig including a base and a releasing layer formed on a surface side of the base, in which the releasing layer is composed of a resin containing a perfluorinated polymer as a main component, and the perfluorinated polymer is crosslinked; and the resin-releasing jig further including a primer layer disposed between the base and the releasing layer, in which the primer layer is composed of a resin containing, as a main component, a perfluorinated polymer and an engineering plastic, the perfluorinated polymer in the primer layer is crosslinked, and the releasing layer has high abrasion resistance and a good adhesive force to the base and thus the resin-releasing jig has good durability. In particular, provided is the resin-releasing jig which is an extrusion molding mold used in an extruder for producing a long resin molded article.
Abstract: A three dimensional printer includes a work surface, an arcuate track disposed within in a track plane that is orthogonal to the work surface, a carriage slidably disposed on the track and translatable relative thereto, and a print head supported by the carriage. The track has a constant radius of curvature extending from a point on the work surface. The print head is translatable in a radial direction relative to the track, and includes a nozzle defining a print orifice, a mixing cavity disposed within the nozzle and in fluid communication with the orifice, and both a first and second filament feeder, each configured to controllably advance a respective filament into the mixing cavity at a respective feed rate. The print head further includes a heating element in thermal communication with the mixing cavity and configured to melt each of the first filament and the second filament.
Abstract: A fused deposition modeling (FDM) extrusion head is configured to receive control signals from a controller. The FDM extrusion head receives a stream of thermofusible material into an input channel; forces the stream of thermofusible material into a liquefier channel using a mechanical driver; heats the stream of thermofusible material within the liquefier channel to a specified temperature above melting point of the thermofusible material; and receives the heated thermofusible material from an outlet of the liquefier channel and expels the heated thermofusible material through an extrusion tip.

Abstract: A method and a device for producing a crimped multifilament thread are described. A multiplicity of filaments are extruded by means of a spinning machine, cooled and subsequently treated by a drawing device and a crimping device to form a crimped thread. Before the thread is wound up to form a bobbin, a multiplicity of intertwining knots is produced on the crimped thread by a treatment device. In order to obtain defined patterns of the intertwining knots within the thread, a pulse sequence of compressed air pulses at a predefined frequency is directed at the thread. The treatment device has a controllable blowing means.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for manufacturing a hybrid stabilizer link. The apparatus includes a die that injects a resin to mold a socket into which a ball stud is inserted, a shaft whose first end is inserted into the die and which has the socket formed at the inserted first end thereof, and a control unit that fixes a pre-molded socket to the second end of the shaft, adjusts a rotational angle of the shaft based on a lengthwise axis of the shaft, and adjusts a distance from the die. After the socket is injection-molded on the first end of the metal shaft having a predetermined length, when another socket is injection-molded on the second end of the shaft, an angle of the previously molded and a distance from the die are easily adjusted.
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for nipple and breast formation are described where devices precondition or expand a target nipple tissue to reduce the pressure exerted by the skin on an eventual implant. Generally, the apparatus comprises a mold having a contact surface which is curved in conformance with a breast upon which the mold is positionable, the contact surface having an adhesive for securement upon the breast, and the mold defining a cavity along the contact surface which conforms to a size of a nipple to be formed upon the breast and where the cavity further comprises the adhesive for securement to the nipple. A breast enlargement device comprises a cup larger than the target breast and further defines an inner surface which adheres to the breast when contacted.

Abstract: A die apparatus including a flexible lip integrally connected to a main body, the lip configured to adjust a gap between the flexible lip and a second lip and includes a slide bar equipped with an array of linear bearings where the slide bar and bearings are positioned in a slot of the main body, the slot positioned in a spaced relation from the lip. In one aspect the slide bar includes a threaded hole to receive a fastener configured to fasten a pivot member to the slide bar, the pivot member configured to pivot in order to adjust the lip. The slide bar and bearings may be used on a variety of die apparatus having an integrally connected lip.
Abstract: A blow molding system having a blow molding station with at least one mold assembly and method for forming a filled container therewith. The blow molding station including at least one blow nozzle coupled to a source of blowing medium and configured to discharge the blowing medium into the preform to simultaneously form and fill a container with the blowing medium, wherein the blowing medium is the product to be contained within the container. A blow-off nozzle is provided and oriented in a direction to discharge a stream of cleaning medium at the blow nozzle causing residual blowing medium to be removed from the blow nozzle.
Abstract: An injection-molding machine comprising a hot runner, arranged in a manifold, for feeding a melt into a mold, a shut-off needle for optionally closing or opening the hot runner, a piston connected to the needle, is arranged in a housing with an opening and to which a fluid can be applied from both sides, and a covering plate having two fluid feeds, into the opening wherein the covering plate, the hot runner manifold and the housing are arranged in such a way that, at a first temperature of the manifold, a distance remains between the housing and the covering plate and, at a second higher temperature the thermal expansion of the manifold and/or housing causes the housing to come into contact with the covering plate, closing the opening. In a further embodiment, a flexible seal is provided between the housing and the covering plate.
