Abstract: An RFID IC may operate at a relatively low clock frequency while impedance matching to an antenna is being tuned to increase the amount of power that the IC can extract from an incident RF wave. A tuning circuit tunes the impedance matching by adjusting a variable impedance coupling the IC and the antenna. The IC may power-up with a low clock frequency or reduce its current clock frequency to a lower clock frequency prior to tuning or during the tuning process, and may increase its clock frequency upon completion of tuning or during the tuning process.

Abstract: In a vehicle keyless system 1, an on-vehicle device 10 receives a command signal transmitted from a portable device 2 and controls a predetermined on-vehicle component. The portable device 2 transmits, as a main signal MS, a command signal including ID information unique to the portable device 2, and then transmits a sub signal LP subsequent to the main signal MS. The on-vehicle device 10 transitions to a sleep state when the command signal transmitted as the main signal MS is received and the ID information included in the received main signal MS does not match with ID information stored in an EEPROM 14 as ID information unique to the portable device 2 to which the on-vehicle device 10 is available.
Abstract: In some embodiments, systems, apparatuses, and methods are provided herein useful to monitor a shopping facility. The shopping facility can include an array of radio frequency identification (RFID) readers distributed throughout the facility to thereby receive and read signals generated from RFID tags within the facility. RFID tags can advantageously be coupled to and associated with products within the facility so that readings of the tags can be used to monitor the status of the products. A control circuit can be coupled to the RFID readers to thereby analyze the readings and compile readings over time. With this, the control circuit can monitor the shopping facility to identify scenarios requiring follow up. Upon identification of one of the scenarios, the control circuit can instruct an automated ground vehicle (AGV) to inspect an identified product at a location within the facility. The AGV can operate a sensor thereof to determine a status of the identified product.

Abstract: A remote controller that interacts with a system under control (SUC) includes: at least one input adapted to receive data from a user; a command interpreter adapted to evaluate data received via the at least one input and determine whether the received data is associated with a remote command from among a set of remote commands associated with the SUC; at least one communication element adapted to send remote commands to the SUC; and at least one haptic feedback element adapted to provide feedback to the user, where the SUC is an in-vehicle system including a display. An automated method includes: generating a list of recognizers; passing user input event data to the recognizers; determining a status for each recognizer; identifying a single recognizer based on the status, and retrieving a command associated with the single recognizer, where the input event is associated with an in-vehicle system having a display.
Abstract: A user identification system is provided, which includes an in-vehicle apparatus used by multiple users and a vehicular portable device carried by a user acting as a driver and associated with the in-vehicle apparatus. The vehicular portable device detects received signal strength of signals received from the portable terminals at multiple time points, and based on the received signal strength detected by the received signal strength detector, determines a driver terminal which is the portable terminal carried by the user acting as the driver. The vehicular portable device determines as the driver terminal the portable terminal that provides a smallest degree of change of the received signal strength detected multiple times.
Abstract: The invention provides a handset that includes a finger-image sensor that provides finger-image-related signals or data for authentication purposes and functions as a telephone handset for use with a computer terminal. A system, including handsets and computer terminals, enables the terminal and/or the handset to access or otherwise participate in at least one network-related function and voice communication in response to authentication of finger-image data provided by the handset.

Abstract: A bale identification assembly has a binding material with identification tags at spaced intervals is used by a knotter system to bind a formed bale. A read module with an antenna transmits interrogator signals and also receives authentication replies from identification tags. The bale identification assembly has a bale drop sensor with a paddle. As a completed bale passes through the discharge chute, the completed bale interacts with the paddle causing the bale drop sensor to activate. Activation of the bale drop sensor activates the antenna for a specified active cycle, and during its active cycle, the read module assigns any identification tag that is sensed to the completed bale that is leaving the discharge chute. A controller receives information from at least one crop sensor and/or bale sensor and associates the information about the completed bale with the identification tag on the completed bale.
