Abstract: A method and a system for calibrating a surround sound system are disclosed. The calibration system can provide a graphical user interface for display comprising a visual representation of the room hosting a multichannel surround sound system. The graphical user interface can permit user input of gestures to place or make changes to the placement of icons representing one or more loudspeakers and a listener. The calibration system can estimate the positions of the one or more loudspeakers or the listener based on the placement of the icons in the model room. A spatial calibration based on the estimated positions can then be performed such that the multichannel surround sound system can render sound scenes more accurately.

Abstract: A personalization enhancement method and system. The method includes retrieving and analyzing digital content associated with a user. Characteristics describing the digital content are tagged and transferred to a profile of said the user. The profile includes additional characteristics generated during previous analysis of data from the digital content and additional digital content associated with the user. User information associated with products, a location, and a time profile is assigned. The profile is analyzed based on selection and interaction of the user with respect to a consumer Website. The profile includes the characteristics and the additional characteristics with respect to products and services of the consumer Website. A presentation color setting and a group of products and services of are determined for presentation to the user. The group of products and services are presented to the user using the presentation color setting.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a computing apparatus for scheduling service assets for an event is provided. The computing apparatus comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the apparatus to, at a portable electronic device with a touch-sensitive display, detect a finger gesture on the touch-sensitive display while displaying a user interface screen, the finger gesture indicative of a user selection of a first service asset in the pool of selectable service assets, and in response to detecting the finger gesture on the touch sensitive display, send a first substitute request notification to a device associated with the first service asset, and in response to receiving a positive response to the substitute request notification, substitute the first service asset for an existing service asset associated with the event, and notifying the pool of selectable service assets and the existing service asset of the substitution.

Abstract: A human machine interface (HMI) minimizing the number of gestures for operation control in which user-intended operation commands are accurately recognized by dividing a vehicle interior into a plurality of regions. The HMI receives an input of a gesture according to each region, and controls any one device according to the gesture. Convenience of a user is improved because the gesture may be performed in a state in which region restriction is minimized by identifying an operation state and an operation pattern of an electronic device designated according to each region to recognize the user's intention when the user performs the gesture in a boundary portion between two regions or even in multiple regions.

Abstract: Techniques are presented for defining, for an online conference session, a plurality of pages, which may be preconfigured, based on information received from a moderating participant having administrative privileges for the conference session, each page corresponding to a discussion topic of a text-based conversation. A request is received from the moderating participant to select one of the plurality of pages. After a page has been selected, the selected page is synchronized such that the selected page is displayed to the moderating participant and each of the one or more other participants, and subsequent text-based communications are displayed in the display area of the selected page.

Abstract: A system stores visual content, and displays the visual content on a display unit in an undistorted, overview projection. The system receives input from a user to focus on a topic in the undistorted, overview projection, and transforms the undistorted, overview projection into a focused display showing the topic selected by the user and content related to the topic selected by the user in a continuous sequence of increasingly distorted projections. In the focused display, the content that is not related to the topic selected by the user does not move on the focused display, and the content that is related to the topic selected by the user moves towards the topic selected by the user on the focused display.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for integrated content presentation via cells arranged geometrically in a cellular environment. Users can navigate various orientations and zoom states of the cellular environment to access information via different applications, different media types, different visual representations and from different underlying content sources. The information can be organized according to various logical relationships. Upon receiving an indication of a zoom state associated with a cell or a group of cells arranged in the cellular environment, a content reference at that zoom state is retrieved. Further, the content reference is resolved to retrieve and output content, including a visual representation associated with the zoom state.

Abstract: A method for displaying icons and an electronic apparatus are provided. The method includes: determining N icons which have a one-to-one correspondence with N applications of an electronic apparatus, where N?1, each of the N icons has a first display parameter; acquiring a sensing parameter by a sensor of the electronic apparatus; determining whether the sensing parameter matches with a preset operation; and adjusting the first display parameter of at least one of the N icons if the sensing parameter matches with the preset operation.

Abstract: A temperature controller for controlling the temperature of an inside space that is serviced by one or more pieces of HVAC equipment. The temperature controller may include a controller having a control algorithm for controlling one or more pieces of HVAC equipment as well as a user interface that may be configured to display a hierarchical menu structure and to permit a user to traverse the menu structure. The user interface may be configured to display breadcrumbs that provide an indication to the user of the current location within a hierarchical menu structure, and in some cases, provide instructional information in a designated or common display area that helps instruct the user in using a particular menu or menu option. These and other features may help make the special purpose controller more intuitive to set up, program and operate.
