Abstract: A method is provided for carrying out a financial transaction. The method is implemented within a terminal of a user wishing to carry out a transaction with a merchant. The method includes: receiving a merchant's identifier; receiving a piece of data representing a transaction amount; generating a transaction by using the user's terminal to the benefit of the merchant; and transmitting the transaction to a transaction management server.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure are presented for an Embedded Data Transaction Exchange Platform (EDT-X) that generates marker data about relevant data of a transaction, and reliably stores the marker data in a permanent data storage, such as a block chain distributed ledger. The EDT-X platform does not generate the actual information that explains who was involved in the transaction or what the contents of the transaction were, but rather generates marker data that can reliably lead to tracing back to that information. The marker data may be permanently stored in a permanent data storage entity, such as a block chain distributed ledger. The data about the content of the transaction may be anonymously stored in a secure database, and the marker data pointing to the content of the transaction may be retrieved from the block chain distributed ledger to look up where the content data is stored in the secure database.

Abstract: The state of a trade order may be defined and/or maintained in response to user action at a trading device. A trading device may receive a user action on a graphical user interface (GUI). The user action may cause the submission of the trade order to the electronic exchange. The trading device may receive a user action on the GUI to define an active order state. The trading device may maintain the order state until receiving an identified user action on the GUI to change the order state to inactive, which may cause the trade order to be canceled or held at the electronic exchange. The user action causing the change in the order state may be an active use action, such as a selection, or a passive user action, such as a failure to perform a selection. Such user action may encourage user attention when managing trade orders.

Abstract: A live video of a negotiable instrument may be provided to a financial institution so that an image of the negotiable instrument may be obtained from the live video, processed, and funds associated with the negotiable instrument may be deposited in an account of a user. The user may be identified and authenticated to the financial institution by one or more biometric characteristics. One or more biometric characteristics may be used to endorse the negotiable instrument. A holder may be used to hold the negotiable instrument while live video is being taken and provided from a user to a financial institution.

In response to determining that the bill number matches the e-bill number segment maintained in the blockchain account corresponding to the bill issuer of the target e-bill, a validity check is performed on bill content of the target e-bill. Abstract: A distributed system for processing messages includes one or more gateways, sequencers, and compute nodes. The gateway sends a message to the sequencer and the compute node for processing. The sequencer associates the message with an identifier indicating a relative sequence of the message among a plurality of messages. The compute node processes the message to generate a preliminary result, and determines, based on the identifier, whether the compute node processed the message in sequence or out of sequence relative to another message of a plurality of messages. If the compute node determines that the message was received out of sequence, the compute node may process a sequence of messages including the message and at least one preceding message in an appropriate sequence.

The method includes first detecting a mobile device of a first user at first micro locations within a retail entity. Additionally, the mobile device is additionally detected entering a first check out lane of the retail entity for purchase of first items from the retail entity. The user is authorized for purchase of the first items from the retail entity and attributes associated with the previous detections with respect to the authorization are analyzed. Resulting future authorization attributes for authorizing the mobile device for future purchases of items from the retail entity are determined.

Abstract: A approach is proposed to support typed payment graph-based electronic payment processing. First, schemas for one or more typed payment graphs used for a plurality types of electronic payment processing are defined declaratively. Upon receiving an electronic payment request from a client, a payment processing engine retrieves a schema of a typed payment graph corresponding to the request and processes the electronic payment by traversing states and edges in an instance created from the schema of the typed payment graph. The electronic payment only transitions from one state to another if a valid edge exists between them and a precondition on the edge is met by the processing results of the electronic payment at the state. While processing the electronic payment, the payment processing engine automatically generates an audit trail for the electronic payment based on its states and transitions for real time recovery and/or analysis.

Abstract: A computing system can facilitate cross-medium transactions through exchanges without having dependency on exchange computer infrastructure, which when down, can cause open transactions to fail. In response to detecting a downed exchange, the system can execute a failover state to facilitate any transactions initially reliant upon the downed exchange.
