  • Publication number: 20180083932
Abstract: The invention provides for systems and devices for hardened remote storage of private cryptography keys used for authentication. The storage device is tamper-responsive, such that receipt of a signal that indicates physical or non-physical tampering with the storage device or its components results in deletion of the private cryptography key(s) from the memory. The storage device is configured to be separate and remote from a computing node that executes an authentication routine requiring the private cryptography key(s) and, as such, the private cryptography key(s) are accessible to, but not communicated to, the computing node only when the computing node is executing the authentication routine.

  • Publication number: 20180082375
Abstract: This disclosure sets forth systems and techniques that trace plant provenance and determine a likelihood of plant spoilage within a plant growth operation. Particularly, a plant health monitoring system may monitor and record plant growth data of one or more individual plants during a plant life cycle from germination through to harvest. The plant growth data may include data relating to environmental conditions that surround the individual plants, and plant-specific data drawn from time-lapse images captured during the plant life cycle. A plant grower may use the time-lapse image data to identify changes in plant structure that indicate the degree of health of an individual plant, or the encompassing batch of plants. Further, a plant grower may use the plant growth data to generate one or more financial instruments that may be distributed to one or more financial institutions as support for securing capital to fund the plant growth operation.

  • Publication number: 20180081059
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of forming a depth map and/or projecting an image onto object(s) based on the depth map. A depth map is a three-dimensional representation of an environment. Forming the depth map may utilize a progressive resolution refinement technique. For example, locating information may be determined in accordance with the progressive resolution refinement technique in response to performing a scan of a current point over a field of view. The current point is a point, selected from a plurality of points (e.g., a grid of points) in the field of view, to which a detection beam of light is directed at a respective time as the scan is performed over the field of view. In accordance with this example, the locating information may be coordinated with the scan to form the depth map.

  • Publication number: 20180082127
Abstract: A video segmentation system can be utilized to automate segmentation of digital video content. Features corresponding to visual, audio, and/or textual content of the video can be extracted from frames of the video. The extracted features of adjacent frames are compared according to a similarity measure to determine boundaries of a first set of shots or video segments distinguished by abrupt transitions. The first set of shots is analyzed according to certain heuristics to recognize a second set of shots distinguished by gradual transitions. Key frames can be extracted from the first and second set of shots, and the key frames can be used by the video segmentation system to group the first and second set of shots by scene. Additional processing can be performed to associate metadata, such as names of actors or titles of songs, with the detected scenes.

Abstract: Use of an exoskeleton by a wearer of the exoskeleton is improved through several features. In a first feature, the exoskeleton enters a gait therapy preparation mode to prepare the wearer for subsequent gait therapy. In a second feature, the exoskeleton enters a balance training mode to help the wearer learn to balance while wearing the exoskeleton. In a third feature, the exoskeleton prompts the wearer to shift weight and/or automatically shifts the wearer's weight in a center of pressure control mode. In a fourth feature, an element of variability is introduced into trajectory cycles performed by the exoskeleton in a trajectory cycle mode. Overall, the various disclosed operating modes can be used individually or in various combinations to enhance the rehabilitation or training of the wearer.

  • Publication number: 20180081693
Abstract: Techniques for improved mobile application architectures and service communication protocols are discussed herein. Some embodiments may include a mobile device configured for providing a mobile application including multiple service applications. The service applications may execute asynchronously and in separate containers, providing service orientated architecture (SOA)-like services with respect to other portions of the mobile application, or even external applications. The separation of a monolithic mobile application into separate service applications provide advantages in terms of application performance, development, and maintenance. For example, a subset of all service applications may be started up, and executed on demand to improve device resource utilization efficiency.

Abstract: Infrastructure and methods to implement a feedback loop for a horticultural operation are disclosed. Image capture devices are deployed on a per plant or near per plant basis, and upload images to image analysis server. The image analysis server applies image preprocessing to the uploaded images, and then applies image analysis to identify plants and plant artifacts. Where artifacts indicate an issue with a plant, a course of action to remediate is identified. Static analysis techniques, sequential analysis techniques, and adaptive techniques are some of the techniques enabled and disclosed by the application of object recognition techniques to horticultural applications. Images may be associated with a plant state vector to enable complex comparison operations.
