  • Patent number: 8861517
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for performing operations on at least one input data vector in order to produce at least one output vector to permit easy, scalable and fast programming of a petascale equivalent supercomputer. A PetaFlops Router may comprise one or more PetaFlops Nodes, which may be connected to each other and/or external data provider/consumers via a programmable crossbar switch external to the PetaFlops Node. Each PetaFlops Node has a FPGA and a programmable intra-FPGA crossbar switch that permits input and output variables to be configurably connected to various physical operators contained in the FPGA as desired by a user. This allows a user to specify the instruction set of the system on a per-application basis. Further, the intra-FPGA crossbar switch permits the output of one operation to be delivered as an input to a second operation.

  • Patent number: 8534300
Abstract: A dental hygiene threading tool used to insert floss between teeth of a user who has permanent oral implants. Traditional flossing for individuals with oral implants and the methods of flossing between implants and the gum line presently available are time consuming and difficult, due to the lack of the space between the two structures. The disclosed device comprises a hollow tube used to guide a floss threading line or pull through guide into these tight spaces. The tube is then removed once the threading line has been inserted. A user feeds a strand of dental floss through the threading line loop and pulls the threading line with the dental floss through the space. Once the dental floss has been fed through the teeth, the flossing procedure may commence. The device dramatically reduces time and effort required to thread floss between teeth and oral implants.

  • Publication number: 20130183240
Abstract: The present invention provides a method useful in the diagnosis and monitoring of cancer wherein there is an abnormal expression of PBR. The method of the invention is particularly useful in evaluating the severity of the cancer, e.g. PBR expression correlates with cell proliferation rates, metastatic potential, tumour aggressiveness, malignancy progression. The method of the invention can therefore be applied in the determination of likely disease progression and in making an associated prognosis. Furthermore, the method of the invention can find use in determining the likely success of certain therapeutic approaches, or in the evaluation of the efficacy of certain proposed new treatments.

  • Patent number: 8340005
Abstract: A high speed multi-lane serial interface and method for constructing frames for such an interface are provided. Frames are constructed for transmission on a multi-lane serial interface. For each of a plurality of transmit channels, packets are fragmented into fragments. Meta-frames are generated having a size defined by a constant meta-frame length×number of lanes, each frame having a meta-frame separator and a payload. Per-transmit channel flow control information is received. Each payload has a plurality of bursts, each burst comprising a burst control word and an associated data burst, the burst control word identifying one of said transmit channels to be transmitted on the associated data burst, each data burst comprising one of the fragments for the transmit channel identified in the associated burst control word. The channels to transmit in a given meta-frame are selected as a function of the received flow control information.
