  • Publication number: 20210278575
Abstract: Methods are provided for forming a particular multi-layer micron-sized particle that is substantially transparent, yet that exhibits selectable coloration based on its physical properties. The disclosed physical properties of the particle are controllably selectable refractive indices to provide an opaque-appearing energy transmissive material when pluralities of the particles are suspended in a substantially transparent matrix material. Multiply-layered (up to 30+ constituent layers) particles result in an overall particle diameter of less than 5 microns. The material suspensions render the particles deliverable as aspirated or aerosol compositions onto substrates to form layers that selectively scatter specific wavelengths of electromagnetic energy while allowing remaining wavelengths of the incident energy to pass.

  • Patent number: 11112269
Abstract: Techniques for self-testing of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) inertial sensors are described. Some techniques involve testing inertial sensor characteristics such as an accelerometer's sensitivity to acceleration and a gyroscope's sensitivity to angular motion. The tests may be performed by providing a test signal, which simulates a stimulus such as an acceleration or angular rate, to a MEMS inertial sensor and examining the sensor's output. The efficacy of such self-tests may be impaired by spurious signals, which may be present in the sensor's environment and may influence the sensor's output. Accordingly, the self-testing techniques described herein involve detecting the presence of any such spurious signals and discarding self-test results when their presence is detected. In some embodiments, the presence of spurious signals may be detected using a signal obtained by mixing the response of the MEMS inertial sensor with a reference signal substantially in quadrature with the test signal.

  • Patent number: 11113855
Abstract: A process, and corresponding system for performing the process, is described for editing and representing property values for a digital map. The process stores a library of expressions for styling a digital map. The process retrieves electronic map data and displays a user interface including a property editor panel and a visual map portion. The property editor panel displays a plurality of map styles. The visual map portion displays a representation of the electronic map data. For a selected map style, the process displays a plurality of style properties and a text field for receiving expressions corresponding to a style property. The process receives, via the text field, an expression and determines a set of suggested expressions corresponding to the style property. The process applies the received expression to the electronic map data and renders in the visual map portion an edited representation of the electronic map data.

  • Publication number: 20210269876
Abstract: Compositions, methods and systems are provided for isolating nucleic acids. A polymerase-nucleic acid complex can be formed by mixing a polymerase enzyme comprising strand displacement activity and a mixture of double stranded nucleic acids. Nucleic acid synthesis can then be initiated by the polymerase enzyme to produce a nascent strand complementary to the first strand, thereby displacing a portion of the second strand. After halting or reducing the rate of nucleic acid synthesis, a hybridizing a hook oligonucleotide can be used hybridize to the nucleic acid through a capture region on the hook oligonucleotide that is complementary to the displaced portion of the second strand. The nucleic acid can then be isolated from the mixture of nucleic acids using the hook oligonucleotide.

  • Publication number: 20210273947
Abstract: A server device that includes server elements that receive a modification request to modify a respective access permission level, designated to a client device for a target server element, from a baseline permission level among a permission hierarchy of access permission levels to a different permission level among the permission hierarchy. The server device sends a nonce associated with the modification request to the client device, and receives a signed nonce or nonce signature generated by the client device based on the nonce and a client private key of the client device. In response to determining an authenticity of the signed nonce or nonce signature based on a client public key that is associated with the client private key and trusted by the server device, the server device modifies the respective access permission level designated to the client device for the target server element to the requested permission level.

  • Publication number: 20210269059
Abstract: Systems, methods, tangible non-transitory computer-readable media, and devices associated with trajectory prediction are provided. For example, trajectory data and goal path data can be accessed. The trajectory data can be associated with an object's predicted trajectory. The predicted trajectory can include waypoints associated with waypoint position uncertainty distributions that can be based on an expectation maximization technique. The goal path data can be associated with a goal path and include locations the object is predicted to travel. Solution waypoints for the object can be determined based on application of optimization techniques to the waypoints and waypoint position uncertainty distributions. The optimization techniques can include operations to maximize the probability of each of the solution waypoints. Stitched trajectory data can be generated based on the solution waypoints. The stitched trajectory data can be associated with portions of the solution waypoints and the goal path.
