  • Publication number: 20100154532
Abstract: A flow sensor apparatus and method. A seal with a conductive interconnect is provided that includes a mass flow sense element mounted to a housing containing a thick film and/or thin film bridge structure for sensing media (e.g., mass flow) within a flow tube. The seal effectively isolates wirebond pads and electrical connections from the sensed media. The media, whether liquid or gas, can contain ionics that eventually contaminate the top of the mass flow sense element. The use of the seal with the conductive interconnect thus seals off the electrical connections and prevents exposure to the sensed media.

  • Publication number: 20100162043
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for restarting an emulated mainframe IOP, such as a failed or hung emulated mainframe IOP within an emulated mainframe commodity computer. The method includes a rescue process that polls a home location for Restart Request information. In response to receiving Restart Request information, the rescue process is configured to shut down the existing emulated mainframe IOP, start a new emulated mainframe IOP, and reset the home location. The Restart Request information can be provided to the home location by the mainframe computer being emulated. Alternatively, the rescue mechanism can use an interface management card instructed to restart the commodity computer hosting the failed or hung IOP, e.g., from a maintenance service and/or a maintenance program residing in an active commodity computer coupled to the commodity computers hosting one of several emulated mainframe IOPs.

  • Publication number: 20100155993
Abstract: A production system and methods for spark plasma sintering. Embodiments of the present invention provide a system and methods that allows for high throughput of material even when using spark plasma sintering technology. The production system includes, among other things, a load lock chamber that accepts a die set that can be loaded with material to be sintered. The die set is passed from the load lock chamber to a sintering chamber wherein the material is sintered. After the material has been sintered, the material is cooled in a cooling chamber. The cooling chamber includes a rotary carrousel that rotates the die set as it is being cooled. Once cooled, the die set including the sintered material can be removed.

  • Publication number: 20100160901
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device which is intended to deliver and maintain reduced pressure to body surfaces for application of reduced pressure wound therapy (RPWT) also known as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT). During application of this type of therapy, a substantially airtight seal is formed around a section of tissue to be treated. This seal is formed by a dressing which provides fluid communication from a section of tissue to a reduced pressure source. Disclosed herein is a dressing system which is configured to enhance usability and functionality of this dressing. First, the system may be configured to allow full rotation of the fluid communication conduit to the reduced pressure source along the axis substantially normal to the dressing. Second, the system may be configured to include a one-way valve to prevent backflow of any drainage fluids. Third, the system may be configured with transparent windows covered by opaque flaps to allow inspection through the dressing.
