  • Publication number: 20210158355
Abstract: In a computer-implemented method of pre-empting fraud disputes caused by billing aliases or unrecognized merchant billing names, an indication that a credit card financial transaction is unrecognizable by the card owner may be received. A billing alias for a merchant associated with the unrecognizable transaction may be determined, where the billing alias is named on a credit card statement as billing merchant. A brick and mortar name that the merchant associated with the billing alias is doing business as may be determined, and an electronic notification indicating the brick and mortar name of the merchant may be generated. The electronic notification may be transmitted to a mobile device of the card owner over a wireless communication channel for card owner review or approval to facilitate preventing financial disputes caused by unrecognized or unfamiliar billing aliases on credit card or other financial statements.

  • Patent number: 10949852
Abstract: In a computer-implemented method of facilitating detection of document-related fraud, fraudulent document detection rules may be generated or updated by training a machine learning program using image data corresponding to physical documents, and fraud determinations corresponding to the documents. The documents and fraudulent document detection rules may correspond to a first type of document. Image data corresponding to an image of one of the physical documents may be received, where the physical document corresponds to the first type of document. By applying the fraudulent document detection rules to the image data, it may be determined that the physical document is, or may be, fraudulent. An indication of whether the physical document is, or may be, fraudulent may be displayed to one or more people via one or more respective computing device user interfaces.

  • Publication number: 20210065186
Abstract: In a method of preventing fraudulent online financial transactions, a request to authorize an online, financial transaction may be received, where the transaction is associated with a debit or credit card account. A computing device at which information associated with the debit or credit card account was entered for the transaction may be identified, and a first geographic location at which the computing device resides may be determined. Based upon geolocation data indicating one or more geographic locations of the authorized cardholder, it may be determined that the authorized cardholder was at a second geographic location at a time of the transaction. If the second geographic location does not correspond to the first geographic location, the financial transaction may be prevented from being executed.

  • Patent number: 10808772
Abstract: A hydraulic clutch system that enables automatic emergency braking (AEB) and remote start of a manual transmission vehicle. The hydraulic clutch system includes a piston-operated hydraulic cylinder or other accumulator to store a charge of hydraulic fluid that can be selectively routed to the clutch and discharged under electronic control to thereby disengage the clutch independently of any operator input via the clutch pedal. By doing so, the system can provide an improved AEB response that slows or stops the vehicle without stalling the engine. The system may also be used to provide remote start capability to the vehicle by automatically disengaging the clutch as part of a remote start sequence of operations.
