  • Patent number: 9908764
Abstract: An apparatus for operating a vehicle lift comprises at least one lifting assembly, a control unit, and a control pendant. The control pendant is configured to remotely control the motion of the vehicle lift through the control unit. The control pendant is configured to permit the lifting of a vehicle by the push of a single button on the control pendant. To permit lifting of a vehicle with a single button, the control pendant comprises a menu screen and a plurality of menu buttons. The menu screen and the plurality of menu buttons may be used together by a user to select one vehicle profile of a plurality of vehicle profiles. The selected vehicle profile may correspond to the vehicle being lifted. • Patent number: 9909726
Abstract: A battery life extender (12) for a portable lighting device (10) employs a reconfigurable mechanism operable to selectively electrically isolate one or more batteries (20) from a circuit having a parasitic power drain. For example, a lighting device (10) includes a light generating element (14), at least one battery (20), a user operated switch (16) configured to control delivery of electrical power from the at least one battery (20) to the light generating element (14), and a housing assembly (18) supporting the at least one battery (20) and the light generating element (14). The user operated switch (16) can impart a parasitic power drain. The housing assembly (18) is reconfigurable to: (a) a first configuration in which the user operated switch (16) is electrically connected to the at least one battery (20), and (b) a second configuration in which the at least one battery (20) is electrically isolated and the at least one battery (20) is retained by the housing assembly (18).

  • Publication number: 20180058039
Abstract: An electronic control system for controlling movement of a work machine is disclosed. The control system may include a first and a second joystick, each of the first and second joysticks configured to move between a neutral and an operational position. Moreover a first and second resistive device may be operatively coupled to the first and second joysticks respectively. The first and second resistive devices may be configured to generate a resistive force to selectively retain the first and second joysticks in the operational position. Additionally, the control system may include a controller in communication with the first and second joysticks and the first and second resistive devices. The controller may transmit a first and second resistive force signal to activate one of the first and second resistive devices to generate the resistive force such that one of the first and second joysticks is retained in the operational position.

  • Publication number: 20180059251
Abstract: A device may determine that a charge of a capacitor of the device, powered by solar energy, satisfies a threshold. The device may power on a first set of components of the device based on determining that the charge of the capacitor satisfies the threshold. The device may obtain ephemeris data based on powering on the first set of components. The device may power on a second set of components of the device based on obtaining the ephemeris data. The device may obtain GPS data using the ephemeris data and based on powering on the second set of components. The device may transmit the GPS data. The device may power off at least one component, of the first set of components or the second set of components, after transmitting the GPS data.

  • Patent number: 9901279
Abstract: Mental abilities are labeled with terms such as memory & problem solving and corresponding performance measures (recall score, # correct) can be obtained. The quantitative EEG (QEEG) measure of brain functioning reflects the electrophysiology of the gray & white matter of the brain underlying the scalp. A database of clinical and non-clinical participants underwent a cognitive activation QEEG to determine the relations between the QEEG measures and cognitive performance for memory (auditory and reading) and problem solving. The analysis revealed correlative (positive and negative) relationships between cognitive performance and the Quantitative EEG (QEEG) measures (coherence, phase, magnitude, etc.) during these cognitive activation conditions. An individual can undergo an evaluation and the subject's values on the relevant (and all) variables can be determined. The deficient QEEG variables can be effectively changed with an operant biofeedback conditioning methodology called EEG biofeedback.

  • Patent number: 9905033
Abstract: A computing device can include a recognition mode interface utilizing graphical elements, such as virtual fireflies, to indicate recognized or identified objects. The fireflies can be animated to move across a display, and the fireflies can create bounding boxes around visual representations of objects as the objects are recognized. In some cases, the object might be of a type that has specific meaning or information to be conveyed to a user. In such cases, the fireflies might be displayed with a particular size, shape, or color to convey that information. The fireflies also can be configured to form shapes or patterns in order to convey other types of information to a user, such as where audio is being recognized, light is sufficient for image capture, and the like. Other types of information can be conveyed as well via altering characteristics of the fireflies.

Abstract: Distributed communications systems providing and supporting radio frequency (RF) communication services and digital data services, and related components and methods are disclosed. The RF communication services can be distributed over optical fiber to client devices, such as remote units for example. Power can also be distributed over electrical medium that is provided to distribute digital data services, if desired, to provide power to remote communications devices and/or client devices coupled to the remote communications devices for operation. In this manner, as an example, the same electrical medium used to transport digital data signals in the distributed antenna system can also be employed to provide power to the remote communications devices and/or client devices coupled to the remote communications devices.
