  • Patent number: 9107462
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide computer implemented techniques to generate textile patterns that are optimized according to a predicted fabric behavior in different orientations. By orienting a “bias” of a fabric based on a number of textile panels being produced from the fabric, the textile panels can be configured to take full advantage of the fabric's properties. Orientation parameters for positioning the panels may be calculated to maximize the number of panels that can be cut from the fabric. Automatic adjustments may be made to the parameters by analyzing the fabric's constraints. The user can also input these constraints and an amount of desired stretch in specific areas of the fabric. A mechanism may also be employed to create a 3D model covered by the fabric in order to further adjust the fabric's orientation.

  • Patent number: 9076058
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention are related to systems, methods and apparatus for determining the orientation of a text line or a page in a document image. According to a first aspect of the present invention, an image of text blobs may be generated from a text mask associated with a document image. From the text-blob image, pixel-wise horizontal differences may be accumulated and compared to accumulated pixel-wise vertical differences. Text line orientation may be determined as horizontal when the accumulated pixel-wise horizontal differences are less than the accumulated pixel-wise vertical differences. According to a second aspect of the present invention, page orientation may be determined by reconciling an estimated text-line orientation with document language information.

  • Publication number: 20150122857
Abstract: A load carrier foot and vehicle load carrier for a vehicle, such as a roof rack, having the load carrier foot. The load carrier foot includes a body having a load carrying bar receiving surface for receiving a load carrying bar, a vehicle support surface for resting against a surface of the vehicle. The load carrier foot further includes a fastening member adapted to be operated by a user to attach the load carrier foot to the vehicle. The fastening member is adapted to be automatically retracted to a position in which the fastening member is protected from interaction with a surface of the vehicle. The load carrier foot prevents a user form accidentally damage the vehicle, such as the lacquer of the roof of the vehicle when positioning and tightening the load carrier foot to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 8947453
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention are related to systems and methods for correcting artifacts in a camera-captured image of a document or image of an object exhibiting document-like content. A mobile device may capture an image and send the image to a cloud computing system for processing. According to a first aspect of the present invention, the mobile device may provide real-time feedback cues to assist in the capture of an image. The mobile device may detect a region-of-interest in the captured image, and a user may refine or confirm the detected region-of-interest. The captured image, information identifying the region-of-interest and a metadata tag, referred to as a region-of-interest modification tag, indicating whether, or not, the region-of-interest was refined by a user may be sent to the cloud.

  • Patent number: 8821093
Abstract: A wheel nut assembly for fixing a wheel to a vehicle hub which includes a wheel nut with an internal thread; a wheel stud having an external thread to co-operate with the internal thread of said wheel nut and having an end portion adapted to project beyond the wheel nut which end portion includes axial grooves o ribs on its external surface; a retaining cap with internal grooves or ribs complementary to the external ribs or grooves on said wheel stud adapted to fit over said wheel stud and said wheel nut; and means to secure the retaining cap to said wheel nut. The retaining cap prevents rotation of the nut once it has been tightened In some embodiments an aesthetic cover is provided to improve the appearance of the wheel. This aesthetic cover may also be used to lock the retaining cap to the nu and provide an indication that the nut is securely fastened.
