  • Publication number: 20220126710
Abstract: A system and method of charging an electric vehicle uses a modular ground transceiver station (GTS) having at least two ground transceiver assemblies (GTAs). Each GTA is adapted to align with a vehicle transceiver assembly (VTA) of the electric vehicle, and a guideline extends from at least one of the GTAs a predetermined distance for guiding the electric vehicle to the GTAs. The GTS is selected based on an active GTA configuration of the GTS and a VTA configuration of the electric vehicle. The electric vehicle is guided along the guideline for alignment of at least one VTA of the electric vehicle with at least one of the GTAs in response to at least one signal radiated by the guideline. • Publication number: 20220126404
Abstract: Described herein are examples of torch tracking systems that monitor travel directions, speeds, and/or distances of welding torches using retractable cords. In some examples, the torch tracking systems use a sensor to measure a speed at which a reel extends and/or retracts a cord, and/or measure a length of the cord that is extended and/or retracted. The reel or cord can be attached to some portion of the welding torch, such that movement of the torch away from the reel causes the reel to extend more cord, and movement towards the reel allows a spring loaded spool of the reel to automatically retract the cord. While reel based torch tracking systems may provide coarser tracking than the more complex and/or expensive torch tracking solutions, their simplicity and low cost may make them an attractive alternative.

  • Publication number: 20220130686
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of fabricating a packaged radio-frequency (RF) device. The disclosed methods use an encapsulant on solder balls in combination with a dam or a trench to control the distribution of an under-fill material between one or more components and a packaging substrate. The encapsulant can be used in the ball attach process. The fluxing agent leaves behind a material that encapsulates the base of each solder ball. The encapsulant reduces the tendency of the under-fill material to wick around the solder balls by capillary action which can prevent or limit the capillary under-fill material from flowing onto or contacting other components. The dam or trench aids in retaining the under-fill material within a keep out zone to prevent or limit the under-fill material from contacting other components.
