  • Patent number: 10094035
Abstract: Various embodiments herein relate to methods and apparatus for electroplating material onto substrates. Often the substrate is a semiconductor substrate. Various techniques described herein utilize a number of different electroplating stages, where the convection conditions vary between the different electroplating stages. In many cases, at least one ultra-low convection stage is used. The ultra-low convection stage may be paired with an initial stage and a final stage that have higher convection conditions. By controlling the convection conditions as described herein, very uniform plating results can be achieved, even when differently sized and/or shaped features are provided on a single substrate.

  • Patent number: 10093424
Abstract: A gas turbine engine includes a fan section delivering air into a compressor section. The compressor section compresses air and delivers air into a combustion section. Products of combustion pass from the combustion section over a turbine section to drive the fan section and main compressor sections. A gearbox is driven by the turbine section to drive the fan section. An environmental control system includes a higher pressure tap at a higher pressure location in the compressor section, and a lower pressure tap at a lower pressure location. The lower pressure location being at a lower pressure than the higher pressure location. The lower pressure tap communicates to a first passage leading to a downstream outlet, and having a second passage leading into a compressor section of a turbocompressor. The higher pressure tap leads into a turbine section of the turbocompressor such that air in the higher pressure tap drives the turbine section to in turn drive the compressor section of the turbocompressor.

  • Patent number: 10094393
Abstract: A mounting system for a gas turbine engine includes a compressor case portion, an inlet frame, an outlet frame, and a mounting structure. The compressor case portion houses rotatable compressor blades. The inlet frame connects to an inlet end of the compressor case. The outlet frame connects to an outlet end of the compressor case portion at an end opposite the compressor case inlet end. An axially fore mounting structure of the mounting structure connects to the inlet frame. An axially aft mounting structure of the mounting structure connects to the outlet frame. A bridging structure of the mounting structure is offset from the compressor case and connects the fore and aft mounting structures, thereby bridging engine loads across the inlet and outlet frames to reduce load induced distortion of the compressor case portion.

  • Patent number: 10094034
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to methods and apparatus for electroplating one or more materials onto a substrate. In many cases the material is a metal and the substrate is a semiconductor wafer, though the embodiments are no so limited. Typically, the embodiments herein utilize a channeled plate positioned near the substrate, creating a cross flow manifold defined on the bottom by the channeled plate, on the top by the substrate, and on the sides by a cross flow confinement ring. Also typically present is an edge flow element configured to direct electrolyte into a corner formed between the substrate and substrate holder. During plating, fluid enters the cross flow manifold both upward through the channels in the channeled plate, and laterally through a cross flow side inlet positioned on one side of the cross flow confinement ring. The flow paths combine in the cross flow manifold and exit at the cross flow exit, which is positioned opposite the cross flow inlet.
