  • Patent number: 4298550
Abstract: A carburetor for supplying the mixture of optimum air-fuel ratio to the engine at all times under any accelerating condition. The carburetor comprises a fuel adding valve and associated valve mechanism whereby when the vacuum pressure in the suction pipe decreases as a result of acceleration, the fuel adding valve is opened to deliver extra fuel in addition to the main fuel to produce the mixture of optimum richness. With this invention, the conventional drawback can be precluded that after the first stage of acceleration the mixture becomes leaner than is required.

  • Patent number: 4291316
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention an ink manifold is divided into a first ink chamber communicated with an ink drop issuing nozzle and a second ink chamber communicated with an ink source and the first ink chamber through a narrow passage. First and second piezoelectric elements are mounted in opposed relationship with the first and second ink chambers, respectively. The second piezoelectric element is normally applied with such a second driving voltage that the ink will not issue through the nozzle. The frequency of a first driving voltage applied to the first piezoelectric element is twice as high as that of the second driving voltage, and the first driving voltage is selectively applied in synchronism with the second driving voltage only during the positive going half cycle thereof so that an ink drop may be issued through the nozzle during the positive going half cycle of the first driving voltage.

  • Patent number: 4290907
Abstract: Granular ion exchange resins in a desalter provided in a nuclear power plant are taken out from the desalter as used ion exchange resins when their capacities are lowered. The used ion exchange resins in a slurry state are led to a thin film drier. A rotating shaft provided with rotating blades is inserted in the thin film drier. When the slurry of the used ion exchange resins is led thereto, the rotating shaft is driven to rotate, and the side wall of the thin film drier is heated. The used ion exchange resins led to the thin film drier are heated and pulverized to powder by the action of rotating blades. The powder is taken out of the thin film drier to the outside and shaped into pellets.

  • Patent number: 4288478
Abstract: Bottles made of saturated polyester resin, particularly polyethylene terephthalate resin, by orientation blow molding exhibit phenomenal properties and characteristics, but suffer from a serious disadvantage in that the bottle neck is greatly inferior in the properties and characteristics to the bottle body, because the neck is molded into the final form without undergoing biaxial orientation. Biaxial orientation gives the bottle body outstanding properties and performance because it causes the molecules of a molding resin material to be arranged in the same direction. Based on this principle, the bottle neck is given the same effect as is produced with biaxial orientation by applying tensile force in a certain direction to the molecules of a molding resin material while it is still in a temperature range at which orientation takes place.
