  • Patent number: 10482874
Abstract: Systems and processes for operating a digital assistant using a hierarchical belief state are disclosed. In an example process, a user utterance of a dialog is received. A belief state for the dialog is determined. The belief state comprises a plurality of dialog slots. Each dialog slot of the plurality of dialog slots includes a respective marginal certainty for a concept or property represented by the respective dialog slot. A first dialog slot of the plurality of dialog slots further includes one or more joint certainties for one or more interpretations arising from the first dialog slot. Based on the marginal certainty of each dialog slot of the plurality of dialog slots and the one or more joint certainties of the first dialog slot, a policy action is selected from a plurality of candidate policy actions that correspond to the belief state. The selected policy action is performed.

  • Patent number: 10460004
Abstract: Time to live (“TTL”) values are determined based on one or more factors. The TTL values may be included in responses to requests for resources, thereby affecting the frequency of subsequent requests. This dynamic determination of TTL values may provide resilience to system load, for example by using longer TTL values when the system is under greater load in order to reduce the rate at which subsequent requests are received. A dynamic TTL service may calculate a TTL value based on one or more factors, such as overall system load, resource load, hardware load, and/or software load. In various embodiments, a dynamic TTL service may act natively within a service, within a system framework, as a proxy, as a cluster, and/or as a broker.

  • Patent number: 10445753
Abstract: Features are disclosed for analyzing requests for network accessible content, including but not limited to web pages, to determine which topics and other characteristics are popular or are gaining in popularity (“trending”). Content items or sources may be profiled to determine characteristics that two or more content items or sources may have in common. Content requests from multiple client devices may be tracked and analyzed to determine the trending or popular characteristics. Data feeds or reports regarding the summarized content requests may be generated and distributed to content servers and other entities. The data feeds may be used to tailor content, such as by highlighting or featuring content associated with the most-requested content characteristics, or utilizing demographic data to tailor content for different users.

  • Publication number: 20190272975
Abstract: Techniques are described that facilitate automated extraction of lamellae and attaching the lamellae to sample grids for viewing on transmission electron microscopes. Some embodiments of the invention involve the use of machine vision to determine the positions of the lamella, the probe, and/or the TEM grid to guide the attachment of the probe to the lamella and the attachment of the lamella to the TEM grid. Techniques that facilitate the use of machine vision include shaping a probe tip so that its position can be readily recognized by image recognition software. Image subtraction techniques can be used to determine the position of the lamellae attached to the probe for moving the lamella to the TEM grid for attachment. In some embodiments, reference structures are milled on the probe or on the lamella to facilitate image recognition.

  • Publication number: 20190259496
Abstract: A method for processing ECG records from multiple patients for clinician overreading includes identifying an unread group of current ECG records from multiple patients awaiting clinician overreading. Each ECG record in the ungroup includes at least a current ECG data, a current waveform measurement, a current interpretative statement, and a serial comparison statement. A set of prioritization rules is applied with a processor to prioritize the current ECG records in the unread group into a prioritized order for clinician overreading based on at least one of the current waveform measurements, the current interpretive statements, and the serial comparison statements. The current ECG records are then presented in the prioritized order for clinician overreading.

  • Patent number: 10335971
Abstract: A distributor valve for a hydrocutting system. The valve automatically diverts a flow of liquid and solid food products flowing from a source to one or both of two destinations. An entry conduit receives the suspended food products in liquid, and an angled plate deflects the food products downwardly. The food products and liquid enter a drum that is perpendicular to the entry conduit, causing rotational circulation in the drum. The food products and liquid flow into one or both of two longitudinally opposite outlets, depending on whether the path downstream of the outlets is flowing. Upon actuation of a valve on one side, or essentially complete blockage of one side, the fluid and products flow to the other side automatically. No moving parts are needed in the valve to change the flow path; the only change is to the flow downstream, which automatically affects the flow in the valve.

  • Publication number: 20190167141
Abstract: A method of obtaining and analyzing ECG data from a patient or group of patients is disclosed. The ECG data is obtained from the patient at an acquisition device. Once the ECG data is obtained, the ECG data is transmitted to an analysis server that is operated by an analysis provider and is located remote from the location of the acquisition device. Along with the ECG data, acquisition parameters are transmitted to the analysis server. At the analysis server, one of a plurality of algorithms is selected to analyze the ECG data. If an abnormality is detected, the patient information is directed to a healthcare provider who can then contact the patient to schedule an appointment. Based upon the referral, a referral fee can be transferred from the healthcare provider to the analysis provider. The patient can be prompted to provide additional information and selections that dictate the level of analysis generated.
