  • Patent number: 12007552
Abstract: The invention provides apparatuses and systems for cutting off electromagnetic radiation (ER) beams, such as laser beams. The apparatuses and systems employ gravitational force on a shutter to close off the path of the ER beam if power is cut to an electromagnet holding the shutter out of the beam path. Power to the electromagnet is typically connected to a safety interlock connected to a door or other entry point to an enclosure in which the ER beam is being used. Additionally, the invention provides add-on devices that allow the ER beam to be blocked to change lenses or targets.

  • Patent number: 12010168
Abstract: Connecting user equipment (UE) to an application can be managed based on UE movement and location. During data session between UE and application, a communication management component (CMC) associated with anchor network component (ANC) or serving network component (SNC) determines UE location, and connects UE to the ANC and SNC, which enables access of the application via a data network associated with ANC. As UE moves, CMC tracks UE movement and communication conditions. If, when UE is at second location, a communication condition breaches threshold level, CMC determines whether interruption of the data session is permitted. If not, CMC determines whether there is a local SNC in proximity to second location. If there is, CMC can switch UE from SNC to local SNC, which can access local application content via local data network associated with application. If interruption permitted, UE deactivates and reactivates to connect to local ANC.

  • Publication number: 20240187931
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards adaptive spectrum as a service, in which spectrum can be dynamically allocated to adapt to demand for wireless capacity. The demand for wireless capacity can be based on monitoring system state, and/or proactively predicted based on other system state such as time of day. Reallocated spectrum can be monitored for performance, to converge spectrum allocation to a more optimal state. Allocated spectrum can be relocated, increased or decreased, including by the use of citizens band radio service spectrum or other spectrum. Currently allocated spectrum can be adapted into modified allocated spectrum by an application program (xApp) coupled to a radio access network intelligent controller (RIC), a citizens broadband radio service device, a domain proxy service, and/or a user device. A user device can determine and request bandwidth, with spectrum allocated in response.
