  • Patent number: 11403578
Abstract: A method for generating a communicable disease policy plan by using machine learning. The process identifies a number of workplace policies for a number of business entities. The workplace policies comprise a number of dimensions of data collected from a number of sources. The process collects employment data for each of the business entities. The employment data includes sick leave data about employees of the plurality of business entities. The process determines metrics for the sick leave data during a given time interval; simultaneously models the workplace policies and the metrics for the sick leave data to identify correlations among the number of dimensions of data and generalize rules for predicting effective workplace policies; predicts a number of effective workplace policies for a particular business entity; and generates a communicable disease policy plan for the particular business entity based on the number of effective workplace policies.

  • Patent number: 11401797
Abstract: A mobile service rig includes an onboard rechargeable electric power storage system (e.g., a battery, supercapacitor, etc.) for powering the rig's hoist and drive wheels. Under battery power, the rig travels overland to service wellbores at various wellsites. Once at a wellsite, a submerged pump assembly at the site is de-energized, and the hoist proceeds to remove and reinstall tubing and the pump assembly. While the electric pump assembly is de-energized, the rig's onboard rechargeable electric power storage system taps into the electric power source normally used for the electric pump assembly. The electric power source of the electric pump assembly recharges the rechargeable electric power storage system while the rig is servicing the well. When the hoist lowers the tubing back down into the wellbore, the energy generated by that operation is recovered and used for replenishing the rig's rechargeable electric power storage system.

  • Patent number: 11405770
Abstract: Embodiments provide efficient multicast handover for content delivery to client devices in multi-carrier communications systems. For example, client devices in a transport craft can consume a media channel offering via a first carrier during transport through the communications system. Embodiments can establish respective multicast groups for the media channel offering in at least the first carrier and a subsequent second carrier, and can notify the craft of the multicast groups prior to the craft being serviced by the second carrier. Such pre-notification can permit multicast handover of the media channel offering from the first carrier to the second carrier in a manner that avoids typical handover-related. For example, embodiments can direct multicast delivery of the media channel offering to the craft in accordance with the first multicast group while being serviced by the first carrier and in accordance with the second multicast group while being serviced by the second.

  • Patent number: 11402513
Abstract: Wireless communication in 5G or 6G, between vehicles (V2V) and other entities (V2X), offers vast opportunities for collision avoidance and improved traffic flow. Many of these opportunities depend on localizing and identifying particular wireless entities (vehicle, pedestrian, base station, toll booth, security gate, among innumerable others). However, due to vehicle motion, the spatial resolution achievable with satellite signals such as GPS, is generally too poor (several meters) to reliably localize a particular wireless entity, inhibiting many applications. Greatly improved localization may be achieved by arranging for multiple vehicles to acquire the satellite signals at the same time from the same satellites. They then transmit parameters of the satellite signals to a calculating entity (such as one of the vehicles) which then processes the data differentially, determining the relative distances between vehicles. Many errors and uncertainties may thereby cancel.

  • Patent number: 11405131
Abstract: Artificial intelligence procedures are disclosed for localizing faults in corrupted messages in 5G and 6G, and for correcting those faults based on measured parameters such as backgrounds and message signals. Message faults can be caused by noise or interference from a variety of sources with a wide range of properties. An AI model with multiple adjustable variables may be “trained” using a large number of message events, including faulted messages, to determine which message elements are likely faulted, based on input parameters such as modulation quality, SNR, and other signal properties. The receiving entity can then attempt a grid search to correct the faulted message elements, or request a retransmission. For field use by base stations and user devices, an algorithm may be developed based on the AI model, and configured to predict which message elements are likely faulted.

  • Publication number: 20220239640
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to systems and methods for automatic sign in upon account signup. Particularly, the present embodiments can utilize a federated login approach for automatic sign in upon account signup for a cloud infrastructure. Specifically, the signup and sign in service (also known as SOUP) and an identity provider portal can be configured such that the nodes are aware of each other as Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) partners. After new account registration, the signup service can redirect the user browser to a cloud infrastructure console to start with a federated login flow, where a sign in service can issue a SAML authentication request, and redirects it to signup service. Responsive to validating the browser using a SAML authentication process, the browser can be automatically signed into the new account and allowed access the account relating to the cloud infrastructure service.

  • Publication number: 20220240360
Abstract: If there is an interruption of power to an electrical load while the electrical load is operating at low end, the electrical load may not turn back on when power is restored. This undesired operation may be avoided by detecting the application of power to the electrical load, and automatically increasing the magnitude of a control signal being applied to the electrical load by a sufficient amount for a short period of time after power has been applied. This way, the electrical load may be turned back on to low end, instead of erroneously operating in an electronic off condition.

  • Patent number: 11398008
Abstract: Systems and methods for modifying image distortion (curvature) for viewing distance in post capture. Presentation of imaging content on a content display device may be characterized by a presentation field of view (FOV). Presentation FOV may be configured based on screen dimensions of the display device and distance between the viewer and the screen. Imaging content may be obtained by an activity capture device characterized by a wide capture field of view lens (e.g., fish-eye). Images may be transformed into rectilinear representation for viewing. When viewing images using presentation FOV that may narrower than capture FOV, transformed rectilinear images may appear distorted. A transformation operation may be configured to account for presentation FOV—capture FOV mismatch. In some implementations, the transformation may include fish-eye to rectilinear transformation characterized by a transformation strength that may be configured based on a ratio of the presentation FOV to the capture FOV.

  • Patent number: 11398876
Abstract: Message failures due to noise and interference cause unnecessary delays and reduction in reliability in wireless networks. To detect, localize, and correct transmission faults in 5G and 6G networks, the receiver can measure the “modulation quality” of each message resource element modulated in PAM (pulse-amplitude modulation), according to how closely the amplitudes of the in-phase and quad-phase signal branches match the amplitude levels of the modulation scheme. If the message is faulted, the receiver can re-assign each message element with poor modulation quality to the adjacent states, or if necessary to each state in the modulation scheme, and may thereby find the correct message value in many cases. When implemented, message fault mitigation as disclosed herein can resolve message failures, improve communication reliability, reduce latency, and improve network operations overall, according to some embodiments.

  • Publication number: 20220225768
Abstract: This conductive ESD protective foot is a grounding device consisting of a resilient conductive floor glide (foot) that provides an electrical path from a shelving unit, chair, or other equipment, to a conductive floor. The foot can be installed onto a leg leveling bolt or, alternatively, inserted into the shelf post itself. This foot provides an electrical connection for ESD purposes while it allows a device using this foot to be moved without causing damage to the floor. This device provides a conductive path to the floor, allows a shelving unit to slide more easily across a floor without damage and separates metal leg levelers (bolts) from the floor, which reduces risk from rust stains caused my metal legs rusting to the floor from use of water or cleaning methods This Foot protective foot can be installed and removed without the use of tools and is held securely in place when attached.
