  • Patent number: 10244575
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for managing performance of communications over a Voice over Long Term Evolution (VoLTE) network. A packet flow associated with a VoLTE call may be monitored, and an interruption in the packet flow that exceeds a threshold duration may be determined to be an abnormal termination of the VoLTE call. Information regarding the abnormal VoLTE call termination may be propagated through various network platforms to an enhanced Node B (eNB), where an abnormal VoLTE call termination event may be logged. The abnormal VoLTE call termination event may be utilized when analyzing the performance of the VoLTE network.

  • Patent number: 10237314
Abstract: A user may interact with a collection of devices that each exhibit particular device properties. Where each device executes and presents an isolated computing environment, inconsistencies may arise in the user interaction by the user with different devices. Alternatively, a terminal server may present a computing environment to various auxiliary devices, but such presentation may fail to utilize some device properties of some devices, and/or may present a computing environment that is not suitable for some devices. Instead, a primary device of the device collection may adapt a primary computing environment to an auxiliary computing environment for each auxiliary device, based upon its device properties. Upon receiving a request to execute an application, the primary device may execute the application within the auxiliary computing environment, and may adapt the application based upon the device properties. The primary device may stream each auxiliary computing environment to the respective auxiliary device.

  • Patent number: 10230877
Abstract: A vehicle includes a sensor unit, a body, a camera, a display, and a controller. The sensor unit obtains sensor data pertaining to conditions pertaining to the vehicle. The camera is mounted on the body, and includes a lens. The display is disposed within the body, and provides images from the camera. The controller is configured to at least facilitate rotating the lens, based at least in part on the one or more conditions, between a first position and a second position. When in the first position, the lens has a first focal length, resulting in images for the display with a first field of view. When in the second position, the lens has a second focal length that is shorter than the first focal length, resulting in images for the display with a second field of view that is wider than the first field of view.

  • Patent number: 10228064
Abstract: A refrigeration valve having a valve body having an inlet, an outlet, and a flow passage defined therebetween, an expansion valve in the flow passage, a first hand valve between the inlet and the expansion valve, and a second hand valve between the outlet and the expansion valve. The first and second hand valves are provided at a top of the valve body and are movable in a first direction for preventing fluid flow through the flow passage. By providing the first and second hand valves at the top of the valve body rather than at a bottom of the valve body, valve life is increased and the valves are not prevented from operating due to particulate build up in the valves.

  • Patent number: 10230833
Abstract: A wireless communication device is configured to determine a speed at which it is moving based on timing advance values, which are provided by a base station in order to synchronize TDMA communications. The timing advance values are received at periodic intervals, and indicate by how much time the device should advance its data bursts so that they arrive at the base station within the correct TDMA timeslot. Each timing advance value can be multiplied by the length of a timeslot and by the propagation speed of radio waves to determine the distance of the device from the base station. The speed of the device can be determining by analyzing changes in this distance over time. When the device detects that it is moving at greater than a threshold speed, the device disables certain activities or functions that might be distracting to a driver of a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20190073386
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product conduct online visual searches through an augmented reality (AR) device having an optical see-through head mounted display (HMD). An apparatus identifies a portion of an object in a field of view of the HMD based on user interaction with the HMD. The portion includes searchable content, such as a barcode. The user interaction may be an eye gaze or a gesture. A user interaction point in relation to the HMD screen is tracked to locate a region of the object that includes the portion and the portion is detected within the region. The apparatus captures an image of the portion. The identified portion of the object does not encompass the entirety of the object. Accordingly, the size of the image is less than the size of the object in the field of view. The apparatus transmits the image to a visual search engine.

  • Publication number: 20190075149
Abstract: The CoAP base protocol can be enhanced to support CoAP streaming. Streaming can use a reserved “/streaming” URI and current CoAP methods can be used towards the “/streaming” location, which will trigger or terminate streaming operations. Streaming can use a new STREAM method. Alternately, the current Observe mechanism can be enhanced to support streaming. Streaming operation can be combined with existing CoAP block transfer operations.

  • Publication number: 20190075184
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices may be used to support freshness-based processing of requests. Freshness-based processing may involve the service layer examining the age of stored content (e.g., resource representation) that it hosts and determining whether it is fresh enough to satisfy a retrieve or discovery request with a specified freshness requirement. If not fresh, the service layer can contact an application to refresh the content. In addition, freshness-based processing can also involve the service layer examining the semantic state of a command oriented update request to determine whether its state is fresh or not with respect to prior commands processed by the service layer. For example, the service layer may compare stored content associated with controlling a particular application (e.g. door is locked) and against the semantic content of an update request (e.g., unlock door) to determine whether it is the same (e.g., stale) or not (e.g., fresh).
