  • Patent number: 8065821
Abstract: Footwear with interchangeable components on the ankle area and tongue is herein disclosed, wherein both the replacement tongue and the upper area of the footwear comprise different materials, colors, or styles. The removal and replacement functionality is accomplished with a plurality of snap fasteners. To remove the upper portion of the footwear, the laces would be removed from the eyelets, an upper portion and tongue interchanged, and the laces replaced. It is also envisioned that the upper portion and tongue could be removed completely and shorter laces installed to transform the footwear into a pair of shoes as well.

  • Patent number: 8054593
Abstract: A circuit that includes a single grounded fault sensing transformer coupled to a resonant circuit that produces an output signal used by a microcontroller to determine a load current flowing through at least two conductors passing through the center of the sensing transformer. The microcontroller pings the resonant circuit, causing an impulse disturbance at the output signal, and the microcontroller calculates the inductance component of the resonant circuit based on the frequency of the decaying output signal. The microcontroller calculates the resistive core loss as a function of a known resistance of the resonant circuit, a known capacitance of the resonant circuit, the calculated inductance, and the determined rate of decay of the output signal. The calculated resistive core loss is compared to a table or to a polynomial function that characterizes known resistive core losses with known load currents to determine the load current corresponding to the calculated resistive core loss.

  • Publication number: 20110264710
Abstract: A system and associated method for monitoring and reporting productivity in an enterprise environment. The enterprise environment has a server, a database, a client program and a web interface. The database stores transaction data and administration data. The transaction data stores records of time spent by an end user to perform a certain volume of work for a transaction. The administration data configures operations of the client program per transaction. The client program records a time log and provides an interface to upload a volume log of the transaction. The end user or an administrative user manages content of the database via web interface. The server processes a respective request for recording transaction time and volume log and subsequently generates a productivity report including efficiency, availability, and utilization values based on the transaction data in the database.

  • Publication number: 20110203789
Abstract: An electronic actuation system for a pressure equalising device in a downhole apparatus such as a wellbore plug is described. The system includes a pressure sensor for measuring pressure in the wellbore, and means for setting a reference pressure value using a measurement from the pressure sensor. In a method of use, an applied pressure value is determined using a measurement from the pressure sensor and the reference pressure value, and the device is actuated, or opened, when the applied pressure meets a pre-determined condition, such as falling within a pressure window for certain time period. The invention allows natural changes in wellbore pressure to be accounted for when detecting a pressure actuation event.

  • Publication number: 20110107024
Abstract: A data storage system stores logical data object(s), each identified by a logical identifier. A control is configured to assign a unique WORM (Write Once Read Many) identifier to the logical data object, and stores the unique WORM identifier as associated with the logical identifier, in a database maintained by the control so as to be persistent. Data storage is configured to write the logical data object with a header with the unique WORM identifier. The control, in order to allow the logical data object to be accessed externally to the control, requires matching the unique WORM identifier in the header of a logical data object to the unique WORM identifier of the persistent database for the logical object. The unique WORM identifier is formed of a checksum hash value related to nonce fields comprising at least the logical identifier of the logical data object, an incrementing token, and a time stamp.

  • Publication number: 20100147531
Abstract: A fluid operated apparatus in the form of a flow cap, is mounted on an end of a downhole tool or sub, which itself has a screw thread fitting to a further tool, sub or tubular. The cap provides a number of fluid flow channels arranged in a spiral pattern upon the outer surface. The handedness of the channels matches the handedness of the screw thread fitting so that fluid flow from ports in the tool or sub, acts to tighten the screw thread fitting. A water injection valve including a flow cap is described.

  • Publication number: 20100123991
Abstract: A circuit breaker capable of microcontroller-based fault detection having a backup circuit for causing the circuit to trip in response to a microcontroller fault or a failure of a regulated power supply powering the microcontroller. The circuit breaker includes an RC circuit connected to an SCR. The resistor of the RC circuit is connected between the anode and gate of the SCR, and the capacitor is connected between the gate and cathode of the SCR. The microcontroller has a first pin coupled to the RC circuit, which is initially in a high input impedance state. In the event of a microcontroller fault or power supply failure, the capacitor will charge to a voltage sufficient to activate the SCR and trip the breaker. If the microcontroller startup routine is successful, the pin is configured as an output and is pulled low, shorting out the capacitor.

  • Patent number: 7688005
Abstract: A lighting control system is provided for a space that is equipped with multiple lamps for illuminating the space and multiple power circuits for supplying power to different groups of the lamps. The control system stores information relating to the past illumination of the lamps in each of the different groups. The system detects conditions or events that indicate that increased illumination of the space by the lamps is needed, and produces a control signal in response to the detection of a condition or event that indicates that increased illumination of the space by the lamps is needed. In response to the control signal, the system supplies power to at least one of the power circuits, which is selected on the basis of the stored information, to turn ON the group of lamps receiving electrical power from that power circuit.

  • Patent number: 7636916
Abstract: An increase in the efficiency of copy operations in a data storage system is provided. A host device directs that a volume of customer data be stored through one of two virtual storage servers on media in an associated library. An initiating controller queues a request to copy the volume to a second library. If the request is not processed by the initiating controller within a predetermined period, the initiating controller broadcasts the copy request to other controllers, each of which queues the request. After one of the controllers processes the request and the volume has been copied to the second library, the processing controller broadcasts a message to the other controllers which then dequeue the copy request from their respective copy queues. Upon receipt of such message, the initiating controller transmits a message to the host device that the volume was successfully stored and copied.

  • Publication number: 20090294119
Abstract: A retrievable large bore packer for providing an annular seal and an anchor system in a well bore. Ports are provided behind the slips to prevent debris build-up and allow the slips to release. These ports, in a thin walled tubing, allow the collapse of the tubing behind the slips to aid removal of the packer if the sealing element does not release. The slip arrangement is mounted entirely above the sealing element to remove the requirement to seal between the slips and the inner bore of the packer. In this way the packer can have a large bore. Further flow paths are provided through the packer above the seal to prevent debris build-up above the sealing element.
