  • Patent number: 4813862
Abstract: A collapsible package for extrudable comestibles, such as soft-frozen ice cream, includes a cone-shaped laminated body portion comprised of inner polymer film ply bonded to a structural ply, a nozzle secured at the top of the cone-shaped body portion and a cap or cover across the nozzle aperture. The bond between the polymer film and the structural ply is strippable and has a bond strength of between 65 and 300 grams/inch.

  • Patent number: 4637066
Abstract: A noise blanking signal generator for an AM radio receiver includes a product detector adapted to receive an IF signal modulated by an AF signal and synchronously detect the AF signal, a first low pass filter adapted to derive from the product detector a filtered voltage indicating the average IF signal strength, a second low pass filter adapted to derive from the product detector an AF signal voltage and a reference voltage generating circuit ratiometrically related to the product detector through a common DC power supply and effective to generate a reference voltage substantially equal to the filtered voltage in the absence of an IF signal.

  • Patent number: 4633518
Abstract: An AGC voltage generating circuit for an AM radio comprises a product detector adapted to receive an IF signal modulated by an AF signal and synchronously detect the AF signal, a low pass filter adapted to derive from the product detector a filtered voltage indicating the average IF signal strength, and a reference voltage generating circuit ratiometrically related to the low pass filter through a common DC power supply and effective to generate high, medium and low reference voltages ratiometrically related to each other with the high and low reference voltages defining a voltage window about the medium reference voltage. Comparator apparatus is effective to compare the filtered voltage from the low pass filter with the high, medium and low reference voltages from the reference voltage generating circuit. Current source apparatus is responsive to the comparator apparatus to control the voltage on a capacitor to maintain the filtered voltage equal to the medium reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 4600899
Abstract: An oscillator comprises an amplifier with a feedback loop from the output to the input thereof, the feedback loop including a resonator such as a crystal providing oscillation of the amplifier at a predetermined frequency. A balanced modulator coupled to the amplifier generates a voltage varying at the same frequency, said voltage being selectably variable in amplitude from zero upward either in phase with the amplifier or 180 degrees out of phase therewith. The voltage is selectably inserted into the feedback loop 90 degrees out of phase with the output of the amplifier, whereby, when it is inserted, the frequency of oscillation of the amplifier varies from the predetermined frequency in direction depending upon the phase relationship of the amplifier and voltage and in amount upon the amplitude of the voltage.

  • Patent number: 4277757
Abstract: A radio frequency amplifier includes a first stage cascode combination of a JFET and a bipolar transistor with a second stage bipolar transistor coupled to the first stage bipolar transistor through a tuned circuit. An AGC voltage is applied to the base of the second stage bipolar transistor, the emitter of which is connected in series with the base of the first stage bipolar transistor. The second stage bipolar transistor thus acts both as a second stage RF amplifier and an AGC signal amplifier for the first stage.

  • Patent number: 4262363
Abstract: A circuit for terminating the signal seeking mode of operation of an AM receiver includes a comparator which responds to a composite signal comprising a broadband IF signal and the detected IF signal strength. A control signal is produced when the composite signal exceeds a predetermined threshold. The broadband component of the composite signal is effective as a blanking potential when the receiver is off-channel. A second comparator is utilized to establish local sensitivity so that local and distant sensitivity settings are not interrelated.
