  • Patent number: 11520596
Abstract: A storage device for booting a host computing device includes a first storage memory region having a first storage memory controller, a second storage memory region having a second storage memory controller, and a resilient boot controller. The resilient boot controller is configured to store boot code in the first storage memory region, prevent write access by the host computing device through the first storage memory controller to the first storage memory region, detect a reset of the host computing device through the input/output interface, copy at least a portion of the boot code from the first storage memory region to the second storage memory region, responsive to detection of the reset of the host computing device, and enable read access of the copied boot code by the host computing device through the second storage memory controller of the second storage memory region, responsive to the copy operation.

Abstract: In described examples, a phase locked loop (PLL) has a first phase detector cell (PD) that has a gain polarity. The first PD cell has a phase error output and inputs coupled to a reference frequency signal and a feedback signal. A second PD cell has an opposite gain polarity. The second PD cell has a phase error output and inputs coupled to the reference frequency signal and the feedback signal. A loop filter has a feedforward path and a (lossy) integrating path coupled to an output of the filter. The feedforward path has a third PD cell that has phase error output AC-coupled to the filter output. The integrating path includes an opamp that has an inverting input coupled to the first PD cell phase error output and a non-inverting input coupled to the second PD cell phase error output.

  • Publication number: 20220024706
Abstract: A horticultural container dispensing system has a gravity-fed pot supply source having a plurality of linearly spaced pot paths and supports a plurality of pot stacks along the pot paths in a nested configuration. A pot provisioning apparatus has retention members to selectively release an end-most one of the plurality of pots from each pot stack at a release location. A pot engagement apparatus has a plurality of pot gripper devices associated with the pot paths to selectively engage an internal surface of the end-most one of the pots in the respective pot stack at the release location. A carriage apparatus selectively translates the pot gripper devices between the release location and a dispense location. The pot gripper devices selectively disengage the internal surface of the end-most one of the pots, respectively, at the dispense location. Pot grippers and provisioning apparatuses are interchangeable to accommodate differing pot sizes and shapes.

  • Patent number: 11213434
Abstract: A process for deforming a web is disclosed. The steps include forming a plurality of microscopic aberrations in a first layer and/or second layer of a precursor web. The microscopic aberrations comprising sidewalls and an aperture disposed at a distal end of the sidewalls. The first layer extends laterally outboard more than the second layer. The precursor web is advanced to a forming unit. The plurality of macroscopic features is simultaneously formed in the precursor web, including first and second features; the first features are disposed in an area of overlap between the first and second layer; the second features are disposed in an area laterally outboard of the second layer; the microscopic aberrations extend in a first direction from the precursor web; the first and second features extend in a second direction from the precursor web; and wherein the first direction is opposite the second direction.

  • Patent number: 11138654
Abstract: Techniques described herein include systems and methods for throttling requests for content to reduce stress on a check out pipeline associated with an electronic marketplace thereby avoiding overstressing a server to the point of no longer processing requests from users. In embodiments, first information may be maintained that identifies a ranking for a plurality of items based on a score. A predicted velocity of content requests about the plurality of items may be maintained and second information about an actual velocity of content requests about the plurality of items may be received. In response to a request for content, a portion of items may be identified based on the scores associated with said portion and partition the portion into a number of groups or partitions based on the predicted velocity and the second information. A data object that comprises the portion of items associated with a partition may be generated.

  • Publication number: 20210238949
Abstract: A method for isolating a horizontal tie-in pipeline of an inactive hydrocarbon-producing well from a main pipeline to prevent flow of hydrocarbons into the tie-in pipeline is described. The method includes the steps of: identifying a location of a junction of the tie-in pipeline and the main pipeline and cleaning the tie-in pipeline by deploying a locating and cleaning assembly into the tie-in pipeline, withdrawing the locating and cleaning assembly, deploying a plug device having a longitudinally extending forward probe and a sealing element to the location of the junction, and remotely actuating the sealing element. The locating and cleaning device includes a pipeline junction sensing element longitudinally extending from a forward end of the locating and cleaning device. The sensing element is connected to a valve which, when open, relieves pressure in the locating and cleaning assembly as an indicator of the location of the junction.

  • Patent number: 10440006
Abstract: A smart device, connected device, Internet of Things (IoT) device, etc. is configured with an embedded certificate authority. The embedded certificate authority generates a compound certificate that is signed at least by a manufacturer certificate securely stored on the device. The compound certificate includes a representation of a state of the device, which is based on one or more measurements of code executable on the device. The compound certificate may be used by an external device communicating with the smart device to determine whether the device is in a trusted state. Because the compound certificate is chained to a manufacturer certificate, the external device can communicate with the manufacturer (or an employed party) to determine whether the state of the device should be trusted.
