  • Publication number: 20110087130
Abstract: A method for diagnosing and treating an auditory processing disorder. The diagnosis phase includes presenting, simultaneously at least one different audible sound in a user's left ear and right ear. Each sound is different for each ear. A determination is made if the user can correctly recall the sound, whereby incorrect recollection indicates a disorder. The treatment phase includes repetitively presenting over time, the patient/user with different audio signals to each ear with the signals being presented simultaneously. An interface is provided for the patient/user to attempt to reproduce said audio signals presented. The patient's/user's ability to accurately reproduce the correct signals over a period of time is monitored with increasing complexity in the exercises.

  • Publication number: 20110076316
Abstract: The present invention provides implantable receptacle devices (and methods) for use in bone and tissue regeneration which provide immediate structural stability and strength to a zone where tissue regeneration is required. By virtue of their size, shape and construction, the devices are scalable, modular, structurally stable, self-stacking in three dimensions, can be aggregated to an anatomically accurate shape, and hold various materials delivered into the implant area so as to create a highly regenerative micro-environment. They can be implanted via less invasive surgical procedures, and because they act as external scaffolding as well as being imbedded as an integral part of a matrix for the effective and rapid regeneration of bone and cartilage in vivo, they may provide significant advantages to patients or subjects in terms of reduced pain, faster healing and fewer complications.

  • Publication number: 20110076979
Abstract: A shielded differential inductor forms a high quality factor (high-Q) inductor that is configured to attenuate frequency spurs and/or noise from magnetic coupling generated by electrical structures on or off of a substrate as well as interference received by other components from magnetic coupling generated by the inductor. The shielded differential inductor includes a differential inductor and a shield that substantially isolates the electrical field between the inductor and the substrate to reduce substrate current loss. The shield includes sets of finger structures that extend beyond the width of the inductor and a hub and spoke configuration of ground conductors that connect the sets of finger structures to ground.

  • Publication number: 20110076949
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for tracking and locating Bluetooth enabled devices is described. A network of Bluetooth sniffers can be used to rapidly locate lost devices and their owners. Wearable child devices maintain low power contact with parent devices until such time as a signal limit is reached, at which point the parent devices alarm. An optional network of fixed sniffing devices can be used to coordinate a search for lost child devices once an alert is issued to the system.

  • Publication number: 20110063851
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide retrofit light fixture assemblies that can be added to existing light fixtures, thereby providing many of the advantages of the newer lighting technology without the time consumption or expense of completely swapping out existing light fixtures while also minimizing the amount of materials to be disposed of. In a first aspect, the invention includes a light fixture assembly having a reflector, a lamp holder, a ballast, and lamp-socket-ballast electrical connectors. The reflector can be adapted to couple to a light fixture housing. The reflector can include an exposed side and a non-exposed side, a downward-reflecting section, and a first lamp-socket aperture in the downward-reflecting section. The lamp holder can be physically attached to the non-exposed side of the reflector. The lamp holder can include a first lamp socket that is configured to receive a first lamp through the first lamp-socket aperture of the reflector.

  • Patent number: 7895095
Abstract: A hybird Notes/DB2 environment provides a requisition catalog on the Web. Client browsers are connected to a GWA infrastructure including a first network dispatcher and a virtual cluster of Domino.Go servers. The network dispatcher sprays out browser requests among configured .nsf servers in virtual server cluster. Communications from this virtual server cluster are, in turn, dispatched by a second network dispatcher servers in a Domino cluster. External objects, primarily for a GUI, are served in a .dfs and include graphic files, Java files, HTML images and net.data macros. The catalog is built from supplier provided flat files. A front end is provided for business logic and validation, as also is a relation database backend. HTML forms are populated using relational database agents. A role table is used for controlling access both to Notes code and DB2 data. Large amounts of data is quickly transferred using an intermediate agent and window.

  • Patent number: 7893463
Abstract: An integrated pair of HBT and FET transistors shares a common compound semiconductor III-V epitaxial layer. The integrated pair of transistors includes a semi-insulating substrate of a compound semiconductor III-V material, a first epitaxial structure disposed on top of the substrate, a second epitaxial structure on top of the first epitaxial structure, and a third epitaxial structure disposed on top of the second epitaxial structure. The first epitaxial structure forms a portion of the HBT transistor. A concentration profile of a first contaminant, which contributes electrical charge, decreases substantially smoothly across an interface between the semi-insulating substrate and the first epitaxial structure. In some cases, the interface is free of a second contaminant that was present, during formation of the epitaxial structures, in a chamber in which the epitaxial structures were formed.

  • Patent number: 7886418
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a vehicle in which a blind cutting machine is installed. A supply of blinds in different sizes, styles, fabrics and finishes is also maintained in the vehicle. The vehicle travels to the customer premise. Once the blind is selected by the customer, the installer measures the architectural feature to be covered to determine the final dimensions of the blind. The installer then cuts the selected blind to the desired size using the cutting machine. After the blind is cut to the proper size, it is mounted on the architectural feature. The selection, measurement, sizing and installation of the blind are accomplished during a single visit to the customer premise.
