  • Patent number: 9338704
Abstract: A dynamic spectrum arbitrage (DSA) system includes a dynamic spectrum policy controller (DPC) and a dynamic spectrum controller (DSC) that together dynamically manage the allocation and use of resources across different networks. The DSC component may be configured to intelligently select the wireless devices for handin, such as by identifying an eNodeB that has a coverage area that is inside a geographic boundary of a bid area, receiving a list of eligible active wireless devices from the identified eNodeB, receiving a measurement report and position information for the wireless devices in the received list of eligible active wireless devices, determining the signal strengths of a target eNodeB based on the received measurement reports, and selecting for handin wireless devices from the received list of eligible active devices based on the determined signal strengths of the target eNodeB and locations of the wireless devices with respect to the geographical boundary.

  • Patent number: 9335159
Abstract: An exemplary method involves, in a system comprising a tool that performs a task on a workpiece, a method for determining displacement of the workpiece relative to the tool. Respective displacements of loci of at least a region of the workpiece are mapped using a Goos-Hänchen-insensitive (GH-insensitive) displacement sensor to produce a first set of physical displacement data for the region. Also mapped are respective displacements, from the tool, of the loci using a GH sensitive sensor to produce a second set of optical displacement data for the region. Goodness of fit (GOF) is determined of the second set of data with the first set. According to the GOF, respective GH-correction (GHC) coefficients are determined for at least one locus of the region. When measuring displacement of the at least one locus in the region relative to the tool, the respective GHC coefficient is applied to the measured displacement to reduce an error that otherwise would be present in the measured displacement due to a GH effect.

  • Patent number: 9336269
Abstract: A computer-implemented method can include identifying one or more candidate topics from a query. The method can generate, for each candidate topic, a candidate topic-answer pair that includes both the candidate topic and an answer to the query for the candidate topic. The method can obtain search results based on the query, wherein one or more of the search results references an annotated resource. For each candidate topic-answer pair, the method can determine a score for the candidate topic-answer pair for use in determining a response to the query, based on (i) an occurrence of the candidate topic in the annotations of the resources referenced by one or more of the search results, and (ii) an occurrence of the answer in annotations of the resources referenced by the one or more search results, or in the resources referenced by the one or more search results.
