Abstract: A system and method for performing a distributed consistency check of a clustered file system. File system functions for loading an inode and/or buffer tree are modified so that in response to either of these functions being invoked, a consistency check is performed.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a motor vehicle panel from a melt, including a thermoplastic material and long glass fibers, and a film utilizes a mold assembly including a stationary mold, a movable mold, and a mold cavity defined therebetween. The method of manufacturing includes the steps of: securing the film to the movable mold; moving the movable mold towards the stationary mold; introducing the melt into the mold cavity when the mold cavity is at a predetermined thickness; and closing the movable mold against the stationary mold to compress the melt and form the motor vehicle panel with the film molded thereto.

Abstract: A joint prosthesis has a first component for cooperation with a first long bone, a second component for cooperation with a second long bone, and a bearing component positionable between said first component and said second component. The bearing component includes a reinforcing component and a polymeric material completely encapsulating the reinforcing component and molded thereto. The bearing component may be sterilized by a predominately surface sterilizing technology.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for implementing deterministic based broken scan chain diagnostics. A deterministic test pattern is generated and is loaded into each scan chain in the device under test using lateral insertion via system data ports applying system clocks. Then each scan chain is unloaded and a last switching latch is identified. The testing steps are repeated a selected number of times. Then checking for consistent results is performed. When consistent results are identified, then the identified last switching latch is sent to a Physical Failure Analysis system.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods of treating avian pulmonary hypertension syndrome by administering to an avian subject a therapeutically effective amount of an inhibitor of soluble epoxide hydrolase (“sEHI”), alone or co-administered in combination with a cis-epoxyeicosantrienoic acid (“EET”). The invention also provides nucleic acid and amino acid sequences of an avian soluble epoxide hydrolase.

Abstract: A protective barrier layer, formed of a material such as titanium or titanium nitride for which removal by chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) is primarily mechanical rather than primarily chemical, formed on a conformal tungsten layer. During subsequent CMP to pattern the tungsten layer, upper topological regions of the protective barrier layer (such as those overlying interlevel dielectric regions) are removed first, exposing the tungsten under those regions to removal, while protective barrier layer regions over lower topological regions (such as openings within the interlevel dielectric) remain to prevent chemical attack of underlying tungsten. CMP patterned tungsten is thus substantially planar with the interlevel dielectric without dishing, even in large area tungsten structures such as MOS capacitor structures.

Abstract: A method of regulating operation of an automatic transmission includes identifying a tie-up condition of the automatic transmission, adjusting a pressure of a transmission element in response to the tie-up condition and determining whether a first gear ratio of the automatic transmission holds. The pressure is set to zero if the gear ratio does not hold and a faulty transmission element is identified as one associated with a second gear ratio that is lower than said first gear ratio.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for initializing a synchronized remote database. A creation module creates a first backup table of a backup database from a schema for a primary table of a primary database. A read module reads each row from the primary table with an application server configured to manage access to the primary database by a database application. A construction module constructs a SQL command for each row of the primary table. Each SQL command inserts data of a primary table row in the first backup table. An application module applies each SQL command to the first backup table to mirror the primary table at the first backup table.

Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for synchronizing a remote database. A monitor module monitors an update from a database application to a primary table of a primary database. The update is communicated through an application server. The application server is configured to manage access to the primary database by the database application. A construction module constructs a SQL command in text format that is equivalent to the update. An update module applies the SQL command to a backup table of a backup database. The backup table is a logical mirror image of the primary table prior to the application of the update to the primary table. In one embodiment, a verification module verifies that the SQL command is successfully applied to the backup table.

Abstract: Aspects of the invention provide methods and architectures for enhancing the reliability of computer appliances and reducing the possibilities that human intervention is necessary in the event of a system failure or failure condition. The provided architecture is extensible and provides a generalized framework that is adaptable to many different types of computer appliances. One aspect of the invention provides a boot up redundancy component to ensure that a computer appliance can be appropriately booted. In the described embodiment the appliance hard drive is configured with multiple partitions that can be utilized to boot the appliance thereby reducing the chances that the appliance will not boot. In addition, an architecture is disclosed that comprises one or more resource monitoring components that monitor an associated appliance resource for a failure condition. The resource monitoring components are programmed to attempt to remedy certain failure conditions that they detect.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for testing logic, particularly arbitration logic on a programmable chip. Secondary components on a programmable chip are configured with delay mechanisms operable to pseudo-randomly delay responses to requests received using arbitration logic. Requests are typically generated by primary components. The delay mechanisms can be used to test the ability of a programmable chip system to handle a variety of secondary component wait-state and latency characteristics. The delay mechanism can also be used to improve system performance.

Abstract: A high-pressure fuel pump (10) used in a fuel system includes an electric motor (14) having a drive shaft (16) to which is attached a pumping element (18). A fuel inlet passage allows low-pressure fuel to be drawn into the pump, and a fuel outlet passage (24) allows high-pressure fuel to be pumped to an internal combustion engine (E). A check valve assembly (30) is installed in the outlet passage and includes a check valve (36) which, when the pump is off, blocks an inlet (38) into the outlet passage to prevent fuel flow through the passage and into the pump resulting in a decrease in pressure in the fuel system. When the pump is operating, the check valve is forced away from the inlet to open the valve and allow fuel to freely flow through the passage. The fuel flows both around and through the check valve as it flows through the outlet passage.

Abstract: A selected word line that is coupled to cells for programming is biased with an initial programming voltage. The unselected wordlines that are adjacent to the selected word line are biased at an initial Vpass. As the quantity of program/erase cycles on the memory device increases, the programming voltage required to successfully program the cells decreases incrementally. Vpass tracks the decrease of the programming voltage.

Abstract: Water soluble materials, compositions and systems for use in treating concrete-containing materials and surfaces are disclosed. Treatment modalities that include addition of the disclosed materials, compositions and systems to pre- and post-construction concrete-containing materials and surfaces are provided. Reductions in the rate and/or impact of corrosion are achieved for concrete-containing structures and surfaces. In addition, despite the water soluble properties of the material, composition or system, the treatments are effective in delivering an advantageous level of moisture resistance to the treated concrete-containing structure and/or surface. The composition is synthesized from a feedstock that includes C9 to C16 branched hydrocarbons of varying structures.
