  • Publication number: 20190108015
Abstract: A mobile application update manager functioning on a user device defers a new update for a mobile application for a first time period. The mobile application update manager predicts a time and size of a next update for the mobile application, a set of changes associated with the new update, and a relevancy of the set of changes to a user of the user device. The mobile application update manager recommends if the new update should be implemented or if the user should defer until a next update is available for the mobile application.

  • Publication number: 20190106679
Abstract: The present invention provides markers, marker signatures and molecular targets that correlate with dysfunction of immune cells and are advantageously independent of the immune cell activation status. The present markers, marker signatures and molecular targets provide for new ways to evaluate and modulate immune responses. Specifically, GATA3 and/or FOXO1 modulation are provided for use as markers, marker signatures and molecular targets. Therapeutic methods are also provided to treat a patient in need thereof who would benefit from an increased immune response.

  • Publication number: 20190105504
Abstract: An automated external defibrillator (AED) is described which includes two electrocardiogram (ECG) analyzers. One of the ECG analyzers is suitable for use only for ECG which is signal-noise-free, and thus may be used during “hands-off” analysis periods in which no cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) compressions can be provided. The length of the “hands-off” analysis period can be shortened by use of the second ECG analyzer in concert with the first ECG analyzer. Thus, a greater proportion of CPR time through the course of a cardiac arrest rescue is achieved.

  • Publication number: 20190109794
Abstract: Embodiments provide a system and method for network tracking. By using packet capture applications having a flow identifier and a time stamper, one or more raw packets from one or more packet flows intercepted from a network can be tagged with a unique identifier and timestamp that can later be used to aggregate packet flows that have been analyzed by one or more capture applications. The unique identifier can relate to the network interface of the particular capture application and can also have an increasing value, where the increase in value can be monotonic. Later capture applications, while capable of generating secondary timestamps, can disregard those secondary timestamps for the primary timestamp of the first capture application in order to remove complications arising from latency issues.

  • Publication number: 20190108218
Abstract: A device may obtain a document. The device may identify a skip value for the document. The skip value may relate to a quantity of words or a quantity of characters that are to be skipped in an n-gram. The device may determine one or more skip n-grams using the skip value for the document. A skip n-gram, of the one or more skip n-grams, may include a sequence of one or more words or one or more characters with a set of occurrences in the document. The sequence of one or more words or one or more characters may include a skip value quantity of words or characters within the sequence. The device may extract one or more terms from the document based on the one or more skip n-grams. The device may provide information identifying the one or more terms.

  • Publication number: 20190107840
Abstract: The present disclosure provides autonomous vehicle systems and methods that include or otherwise leverage a machine-learned yield model. In particular, the machine-learned yield model can be trained or otherwise configured to receive and process feature data descriptive of objects perceived by the autonomous vehicle and/or the surrounding environment and, in response to receipt of the feature data, provide yield decisions for the autonomous vehicle relative to the objects. For example, a yield decision for a first object can describe a yield behavior for the autonomous vehicle relative to the first object (e.g., yield to the first object or do not yield to the first object). Example objects include traffic signals, additional vehicles, or other objects. The motion of the autonomous vehicle can be controlled in accordance with the yield decisions provided by the machine-learned yield model.

  • Patent number: 10255062
Abstract: A classloader executing in an execution environment, such as a JAVA virtual machine or a software container, may be configured to generate class usage data describing the historical usage of classes by applications in the execution environment. Based upon the class usage data, one or more classes may be pre-loaded into a cache prior to receiving a request from an application to load the classes. If an application subsequently requests a class, the request may be satisfied using the class stored in the cache rather than by loading the class at the time the request is received. A probabilistic data structure, such as a Bloom filter, might also be utilized to determine whether a classloader can possibly load a requested class. Only if the classloader can possibly load the requested class will a search be made for the requested class in a classpath associated with the classloader.

  • Patent number: 10252407
Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a stapling device, comprising an activation unit configured to sense at least one of a movement of the stapling device, a position of a switch or a signal from a timer. There is a detection unit that is activated based on a signal from the activation unit to generate an input data. The stapling device further comprises a processing unit to determine number of pins in the stapling device, by comparing the input data with a pre-configured data and a display unit interfaced with the processing unit, to indicate status of the pins in the stapling device, wherein the status is based on the determined number of pins in the stapling device. Thus the stapling device of the present disclosure identifies the exhaustion of pins and accordingly enables timely replenishment of the stapling device with pins.

  • Patent number: 10255612
Abstract: Various embodiments determine a dynamic price of a first item for sale via an attached first smart price tag. The back-end price server receives a request for a current price of the first item for sale and a representation of a user signature motion from the first smart price tag, the first smart price tag associated with the first item for sale. The back-end price server determines the current price of the first item for sale for a user profile handle mapped to the user signature motion. The current price of the first item for sale is sent to at least one of the first smart price tag or a mobile device associated with the user profile handle. The request for a current price of the first item for sale is initiated by shaking the first smart price tag using the user signature motion.

  • Patent number: 10256660
Abstract: Systems and methods for free device placement for wireless charging are described. In some embodiments, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor; and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution by the processor, cause the IHS to: determine that the IHS is placed in a position on a wireless charging pad such that the wireless charging pad cannot provide power to the IHS above a minimum threshold value; request that the wireless charging pad provide fringe power to IHS without repositioning the IHS on the wireless charging pad, wherein the fringe power is smaller than the minimum threshold power level; and use the fringe power to indicate a problem or error to a user.

  • Patent number: 10257781
Abstract: Context-based coordinated data retrieval for mobile devices is provided. An interface between application code of a mobile device and an operating system of the mobile device receives a declarative language based data-retrieval request made by the application code for data from an I/O device of the mobile device. Based on operating context of the mobile device, opportunistic coordination rule(s) are selected from a local rules cache, the rule(s) representative of at least one power-saving option for retrieving data for responding to the request. The rule(s) are evaluated to determine how to retrieve data for responding to the request, and action(s) are performed based on the evaluating, the action(s) including responding to the request.

  • Patent number: 10255173
Abstract: A content variation experiment system for performing variation testing of web pages is disclosed. A content provider receives requests for a web page undergoing an experiment. The content provider determines a variation from a plurality of variations of the web page to provide to the user. The content provider makes the determination without sending a network request to an experiment definition system used to define the experiment thereby reducing network latency.

  • Patent number: 10255529
Abstract: The present disclosure provides an improved approach to implement structure learning of neural networks by exploiting correlations in the data/problem the networks aim to solve. A greedy approach is described that finds bottlenecks of information gain from the bottom convolutional layers all the way to the fully connected layers. Rather than simply making the architecture deeper, additional computation and capacitance is only added where it is required.
