  • Patent number: 10250149
Abstract: Systems and methods for operating improved flyback converters are disclosed, in which leakage energy is returned to the input power source rather than to the output load, while still achieving zero voltage switching (i.e., ZVS) operation. In some embodiments, the improved converters may transfer the energy stored in the leakage inductance to a snubber capacitor(s) at the instant of turning off of the control switch. Further, the improved converter embodiments may also retain the stored energy in the snubber capacitor(s) when the power is being delivered to the load by the secondary circuits. The improved converter embodiments may start the transfer of leakage energy stored in the snubber capacitor(s) to the primary winding once the energy stored in the transformer is delivered to the load. Finally, the improved converter embodiments may intelligently control their active clamp switches such that all leakage inductance energy is returned to the input source.

  • Publication number: 20190098267
Abstract: Features of the present disclosure implement a light illumination system that utilizes a scanning device that is pivotal on an axis between a plurality of positions. To this end, the system may partition the image frame into at least a first sub-image frame and a second sub-image frame. The system may adjust the scanning device, during the first time period, to a first position to reflect light associated with the first sub-image and adjust the scanning mirror, during the second time period, to a second position to reflect light associated with the second sub-image. Thus, by implementing the techniques described herein, the overall size of a linear array (e.g., liquid crystal on silicon or LCoS) in an optics systems (as well as of some optical components in the optics systems) may be reduced from its current constraints, and thereby achieving a compact optical system that is mobile and user friendly.

Abstract: In some implementations, a VCSEL array may include a plurality of VCSELs that each operates concurrently and emits light at a same wavelength. A first distance between a first pair of adjacent VCSELs, of the plurality of VCSELs, may be different from a second distance between a second pair of adjacent VCSELs of the plurality of VCSELs. The first pair of adjacent VCSELs may be located closer to a center of the VCSEL array than the second pair of adjacent VCSELs. At least one of temperature non-uniformity or optical power non-uniformity among the plurality of VCSELs may be reduced as compared to another VCSEL array, with a same physical footprint as the VCSEL array, comprising uniformly spaced VCSELs.

Abstract: A Gaussian similarity matrix is computed between observation vectors. An inverse Gaussian similarity matrix is computed from the Gaussian similarity matrix. A row sum vector is computed that includes a row sum value computed from each row of the inverse Gaussian similarity matrix. (a) A new observation vector is selected. (b) An acceptance value is computed for the new observation vector using the set of boundary support vectors, the row sum vector, and the new observation vector. (c) (a) and (b) are repeated when the computed acceptance value is less than or equal to zero. (d) An incremental vector is computed from the inverse Gaussian similarity matrix and the new observation vector when the computed acceptance value is greater than zero. (e) the selected new observation vector is output as an outlier observation vector when a maximum value of the incremental vector is less than a first predefined tolerance value.
