  • Publication number: 20250146696
Abstract: Systems and methods for detecting an occupancy of a room. The method comprises receiving, from a first door sensor associated with a door of the room, sensor readings indicative of an opening operation of the door. The method comprises determining, based on the sensor readings of the first door sensor, the occupancy status of the room to be a positive status. The method comprises receiving, from a second door sensor, sensor readings indicative of a closing and/or locking operation of the door. The method comprises determining whether the closing and/or locking operation has been performed. The method comprises upon determining that the closing and/or locking operation has been performed, validating the occupancy status of the room to be the positive status; and upon determining that the closing and/or locking operation has not been performed, triggering a supplemental detection process to detect the occupancy of the room.

  • Publication number: 20250135235
Abstract: A dose feedback system provides real-time or near real-time intra-operative radiation dose feedback system to improve and/or ensure that a proper amount of radiation is delivered to a patient by, for example, carriers (e.g., tile carriers). The dose feedback system can be implemented during medical surgeries, operations, procedures, etc. The dose feedback system may allow a medical professional (e.g., surgeon) to more accurately achieve a prescribed radiation of a dosimetric intent or a more detailed dosimetric plan through adjustments to position, dose, quantity, etc. of carriers prior to terminating the medical procedure (e.g., cavity of tumor bed is closed and/or patient is brought out from under anesthesia) at which point adjusting the radiation dose may be difficult or impossible.

  • Publication number: 20210127769
Abstract: A thermoelectric cooler (TEC) headband operable to fit around a user's head. The TEC headband includes a pair of TEC devices spaced apart a predetermined distance. The predetermined distance is sized to position the TEC devices on either side of a forehead of the user. Each TEC device includes a cooling plate and a heating plate. The TEC devices are operable, via a Peltier effect, to conduct heat from the cooling plate to the heating plate when a current is conducted therethrough. A pair of heat sinks are positioned in thermal contact with the heating plate of each TEC device. Each heat sink is operable to conduct heat away from its associated heating plate. A housing is operable to contain the pair of TEC devices and pair of heat sinks. The TEC headband is operable to cool the user's forehead when placed thereon.

  • Publication number: 20210103807
Abstract: Methods for performing inference on a generative model are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a generative model in a probabilistic program form defining variables and probabilistic relationships between variables, and producing a neural network to model the behaviour of the generative model. The input layer includes nodes corresponding to the variables of the generative model, and the output layer includes nodes corresponding to a parameter of the conditional marginal of the variables of the input layer. The method also includes training the neural network using samples from the probabilistic program. A loss function is provided for each node of the output layer. The loss function for each output node is independent of the loss functions for the other nodes of the output layer. The method also includes performing amortised inference on the generative model. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10941622
Abstract: A technique facilitates drilling operations by combining a conductor with a conductor sharing offset shoe system. The conductor sharing offset shoe system protects against collision of boreholes by properly positioning and/or orienting a drill string during drilling of boreholes through the conductor. The conductor sharing offset shoe system may comprise a bullnose disposed at a lower end of the shoe system and an upper guide member disposed at an upper end of the shoe system with a guide opening sized to receive the drill string therethrough. A guide tubing extends from the guide opening into the bullnose to guide the drill string during drilling of a borehole. The guide tubing is sized to preserve sufficient space for accommodating movement of the drill string through the conductor sharing offset shoe system externally of the guide tubing during drilling of another borehole.

  • Patent number: 10408972
Abstract: This document presents a system and method for gathering weather data and utilizing that weather data to calculation the upper and lower limits of the lightning formation range within a thunderstorm or storm system. The calculation may provide a probability for the beginning of lightning formation and lightning strikes for a geographic area for a given time period in sufficient time to permit alerts of lightning activity to be formulated and sent to users of the system. Equally, the system may calculate the probability of the cessation of lightning activity for a given geographic area at a specific time. The probability of both beginning and cessation of lightning activity may be provided at greater than 99% confidence.
